The front door slams open. That’s not too unusual for Josephine; she tends to announce her arrival everywhere she goes. What’s less normal is that she doesn’t even have a word of greeting, bursting into a rant. “I don’t actually mind gentlemen, being polite and talking and generally getting to know you and showing respect that says ‘hey, I recognize that you’re an actual damn human being’. I get that you’re horny, and you have natural human drives. I can respect that. But we can’t all get what we want the second we want it, and we don’t have to act on thoughts when they pop in our heads. God, men need to just stop acting like such spoiled babies.”
Koichi glances upstairs where she’s stormed. “I think you should probably be concerned.” He turns to look, but his friend’s already charging up the stairs.
Josuke is just as excited about meeting “his little baby grand-niece again” as expected, and most of the conversation goes exactly as expected, so Jotaro settles into responding easily. A thought occurs to him, and he frowns suddenly, turning to stare out the window, cradling the phone in his ear as he tries to decide whether or not he needs to send Star Platinum out there. “Just a warning, but Sunnydale might be a bit strange.”
From the tone, he’s pretty sure Josuke’s rolling his eyes. “Pff. As if it could be weirder than Morioh-cho. No problems here.”
“Mmm.” Jotaro hums noncommittally—it’s not his fault if his uncle refuses to listen, and he’s not here to watch the Inflatable Tube Arm Man—is that the name in English?—chase someone down the street outside his house.
It’s not dismissive, that’s the thing, and that’s why he likes his uncle better than his grandpa. Well. Not that Joseph meant to sound condescending most of the time, probably, and honestly it probably came from the same place. They’re both overconfident, but Josuke’s is a kind of...collaborative overconfidence. He tends to think there isn’t anything between himself and his friends that he can’t tackle; while Jiisan...well, it felt a lot more like “I’ve got this” than “we’ve got this”. Not that there’s any problem with it; Jotaro tended toward being a loner himself, but he never presented himself to be different. Then again, his uncle may not be completely wrong; if anything could prepare him for Sunnydale, Morioh might be it. “Don’t forget to email me about your flight.” Fortunately, it seems like Josuke’s got work, too, or he’d want to keep talking, when Jotaro doesn’t have too much to add and yeah, he probably should deal with this. Whatever this is.
I forgot what pyramid this was set at. It’s Ixtepete, since it’s a tourist location but not one that gets a lot of action, since it doesn’t look like too much at the moment, and the caveat that there’s probably not secretly most of the pyramid buried unlike another Mexican tourist spot.
