         Tatsuya had thought himself ready for Maya-nee’s arrival. As expected, she doesn’t ask any questions or bring any personal grudges to bear. Just like everyone else, she appears to have been crying a little, makeup hastily reapplied (and it seems she’s still relying on her former roommate to help her out there, because there are mistakes even an amateur like Tatsuya can spot). She is, however, beaming through the tears, and whether she’s actually happy his hand has been forced and he can no longer hide behind excuses or she’s putting on a brave smile, trying to get through this with positive thinking, is entirely unclear, but extremely admirable either way.
         He was not ready for her to simply hug him like a big sister would, and all of a sudden he finds himself crying uncontrollably on her shoulder as she gently lets him and his big brother watches helplessly.

But, like, penny doesn’t have the super rare card cody is looking for. They’re briefly stumped, until Edgeworth has an idea. He brings his rarest card to cody, like, that is a treasure, it’s really hard to collect those cards in their tiny town, it’s from a rare printing and mia bought him the pack and, like, there were literal tears in his eyes and he hugged her and everything. It was super emotional. Mia never gets it, even after she’s a ghost.
And cody’s all dismissive, like, “I’ve already got one!”
and miles does his smug smile, the one he does in court that makes phoenix want to punch him, and is like, “yes, but is yours signed by will powers?” because he took a detour to the jail to get it signed.
And then cody goes “wait, you’re giving this to me?”, like, all suspicious, and miles explains that this is a plot to bring down the steel samurai by framing him for murder and if cody doesn’t tell what he knows the evil magistrate will win. And while it’s a heavy loss, he will mourn this lost card, sometimes those who fight for justice have to make sacrifices for the greater good (like, he mentions a specific episode and probably actually quotes the show, the nerd).

I will say Maya is young, so maybe she’s just not interested in anyone yet, but I would say she gives off ace vibes, in that I think she would 100% agree that cake is better than sex.    (I’m mostly considering this from Justice for All on for obvious reasons.)    I don’t think she’d be sex negative, but she absolutely would prefer food or romantic dates (or watching shows).    (Honestly, both Edgeworth and Wright might be demisexual.    But that’s a lot less clear evidence-wise for me, I think.)    She likes the idea of romance, so I don’t think she’s aro, and she might be grey-ace. But I think she’s at least on the ace spectrum.

The song wasn’t actually due to the lotus. I was listening to the song separately and then went ‘wait there are parallels to Asura/Taisha in this storyline my heart ow’, after which I cranked this out at a point I definitely should have been sleeping.  And named the series.  Also some steins;gate parallels.
Contains the tradition of graduating high school seniors giving the second-to-top button of their gakuran (school uniform) to the one closest to their heart.
