After Desmond finished his speech, I went “wait a minute, that sounds familiar”. There’s a lot of similarity there with Glenn Yarbrough’s It’s So Easy Not to Try.

        Buffy nearly attacks when someone silently joins her, only for her instincts to pull her punch at the last second, and it’s a good thing she listens, because it’s Xander. “You know, you don’t have to be here.”
        He grins goofily and shrugs. “Just because you have this great destiny doesn’t mean you have to be alone all the time.”

‘you know, people should be allowed to have squicks!’ okay, go on, I’m listening, but that’s a weird thing to have to say. ‘I mean, some people overreact when you tell them you’re not cool with writing something’. Yeah, sure, there are entitled people everywhere. ‘People have called me an anti!’ As long as you’re not doxxing people. ‘People get really upset when you tell them you’re not willing to write pedophilic content!’ aaaand there goes the mask off moment I was waiting for watching the thread. Gee willickers, I have absolutely no reason why people would be upset by that accusation. No one, not even a fortune teller, could have seen that one coming.
You’re on the Ao3 subreddit. Just slap a ‘no underage’ on the prompt. Or specify which teenagers you’re cool with shipping with each other. Calling it pedophilic is not much better than calling it CSEM, and yeah, I sideeye some of that stuff, but I don’t interact and I most certainly do not tell people to their face you think they’ll commit pedophilic acts through writing.

Desmond would have known that Krieg was in Solomon Island if he’d listened to the Sheriff complain about the number of calls she’d had to go on because the guy was getting drunk again.
Hide & shriek is a goofy spinoff that I honestly wasn’t going to mention except for the fact that lore-wise Carter would absolutely have played it and I realized it was the perfect opportunity to actually make Desmond talk about something. And he didn’t drag his feet this time, so hurray, he’s actually learning.

        “Anya’s been sending me postcards.”
        “From her travels?”
        “At first, yeah. Over the past year they’ve all been coming from the same place. I don’t think she realizes postcards are more of a vacation buying item like souvenirs, but it’s sweet and I don’t have the heart to tell her.”
