log horizon has actual mechanics and mechanics that were plot and zhuge liang as an mc and people with bad habits that realize they're bad habits and grow as people (jealousy) and lack of judgment (that one transwoman in Souji's guild might look stereotypical but she's not the butt of any jokes and her fellow guildmembers aren't grossed out).  now that's my kind of isekai anime.
diversity is done in the background, without drawing attention to it as something "weird", which is the right way to do it.  shiroe's zhuge liang, and isn't totally into the machismo thing.
(i've heard there's a sexual assault scene in one of the novels so i'm reluctant to read that.)
the two questionable things: allowing akatsuki to be treated like a doll, and treating one of the two main landers in the anime as less than human. (you could argue it's not in a bad way, but dehumanization particularly of a main cast member as other is never really a good sign)
spoiler alert: I haven't seen series 3 yet so my opinion might change, but the first two are great

More fascinating character study, more of a look into a man who ‘knows a trifle about everything’.  I love Zhuge Liang the mystery, but there’s definite hints as well, toward possibilities.  I like that it’s vague, too, and doesn’t give definite answers.  Quieter and less action than the previous one, though.

What's up, people (by Maximum the Hormone)?  I just got done with dinner.  Yay.  10 hour shifts suck.  But now I get to post for all you lovely people out there, yay.

Like a feather on the wind, Zhuge Liang, or Kongming (the Sleeping Dragon) dances into danger and dances out again.  It’s a fascinating character study that also has some action.  The dialogue is excellent (well…of course it is, all of my favorites are like that…), and it served as a good extension when I was searching for something to fill in the gap when I wanted more than just watching the film for the nth time.  I still remembered this fic years later, and knew I had to go looking for it to find it again.  (It also has nothing to do with the fic, but I was rather pleased and amused to note that the author’s icon on both of their Red Cliff fics is Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century.  Good show, that.  Even if I don’t get the joke there.)
(Also, adding their fics will double the number of things in my zhuge liang tag...kinda sad when 3 of my icons are Red Cliff, really...)

Sacrifices in the name of art.  Lovely.  I'm sick, now, because I don't really have that much time to write so have to do it late.  But you guys didn't come here to listen to me complain.  You guys came here to listen to me tell a story, and in the end I think it was worth it.
The messing up of the r/l thing was a Japanese pun.  Or something like that, since it involves alternate readings of things, and in Japanese, r and l are synonymous characters.
I did some research, but it was late, so I never did figure out what they'd use for carrying wine on long journeys and ended up using the generic 'vessel'.  If anyone knows, please let me know.
Just a reminder, style names:
Kongming = Sleeping Dragon = Zhuge Liang
Guangyuan = Shi Tao
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, the Tiger of Jiangdong is Sun Jian.  Not a style name, but still important.

Main Points:
Zhuge Liang fanfic, probably Red Cliff/Chibi movie based.
Summary: Zhuge Liang must implement his first strategy.

Rating: T, some violence but mostly threats of such.

Okay, this is what I was working on.  Until late, unfortunately, but it got done, and I'm really proud of it.  (I'll notice all the typos later, I'm sure.)  This idea has been rattling around my brain for a while, but it was only yesterday that I ended up writing it.  For whatever reason, this was brought on by reading Ukitake fanfic, including the lovely Meifu's Gate.  Really, I don't understand how my brain works.
This, like the earlier Patience, draws off of many sources, but I guess maybe first and foremost Red Cliff, since that's the only one where he's been depicted with a hawk's wing fan.  (Crane's wing is the usual.  I can't tell what the weapon is in Dynasty Warriors, and it's been a few days since I've played that, so I don't remember the name of his weapon.  Bad.  Okay, I'm gonna look this up.  Okay, it says swallow wing and raven wing, so the point still stands.)  It probably also draws a little off the Japanese Romance of the Three Kingdoms animated series, since I recently rediscovered that.  /grins
I actually had to do a little more research.  I usually go crazy with research whenever I find something new I like, but it's been a little while, and in any case I didn't know much about his family.  Or friends/schoolmates.
Poor Xu Shu.
If style names confuse you, look them up or take a peek at Patience, my Xiahou Dun character study.  This is kind of a character study, too, but it definitely has more action than Dun's.  Funny, huh?  The titles hint at that though.
Kongming = Sleeping Dragon = Zhuge Liang
Guangyuan = Shi Tao

Intrigued by this dialogue from Red Cliff:
"Why carry a fan on a cold day like this?" -Zhou Yu
"It helps me remain calm.  It's the one old habit I cannot give up." -Zhuge Liang
"You do not look like an anxious person." -Zhou Yu

Main Points:
Zhuge Liang fanfic, probably Red Cliff/Chibi movie based.
Summary: Zhuge Liang goes to 'school', but when he returns all is not well.
Word Count: 1870
