There's mostly drabbles in this one, with one that's an AtS crossover, a couple that I'll vaguely bundle into one as a Bargaining tag, a couple I'll vaguely bundle into one as a Tabula Rasa tag, and one drabble I'm labeling Slayer Prom because it mostly just involves them dancing in front of a bunch of slayers.  It also has Proto-friend!ship Xander and Buffy interaction.  (I think I echoed the scene later in the Self-Made Hero'verse.)

well our roommates are going on vacation at some point in the next few months and while they'll be taking precautions that does not actually translate to me feeling safe, so.  My anxiety is through the roof right now, but I talked it over with my sane roommate and we've figured out some precautions we're going to try to take, so it's...something.

Destiny is Buffy's counterpart from Torchwood Aftershock, and Emily is Willow's counterpart.

You know what else is suuuuuper old?  This.  It's actually part of Torchwood: Aftershock (you know, that thing I uploaded like a million years ago and you haven't seen since?) and, well.  There's also a Choose Your Own Adventure.  You heard me correctly.  It's unfinished.  It's also a different take on YAHF in the Buffy fandom, which is why I started it, but...CYOAs are a lot of work, tbh.
I'll probably waffle on what I should post of that (or the Torchwood: Aftershock stuff) for ages (I hate leaving things unfinished but it's also been a few times since I've had inspiration to write for it), but this two-parter can stand on its own and therefore I can stop feeling weird about it just sitting in my docs.  So there.
...I'm feeling a little down about the lack of Shadowed Suspicion reads, but then again, school's started and maybe people lost interest after such a long hiatus (or are at least waiting for the volume to end).  I'm still going strong on the next fight, even though it's been so long I forgot stuff and had to revise on reread (seriously, I forgot about the dragon statue. somehow.), but it's shaping up to be a monster, quite literally.  I'm also feeling upset because a good friend's behaving like a jerk, and both she and my dad are not only showing a dislike of anime (even though he likes Ghost in the Shell, what the blank) but also acting judgey for me liking it, which.
Man, the quicker I can get out of this job and house, the better.  Job hunting is a lot harder than I expected.
Anyway, these all contribute to issues writing.  I'll put aside my rant for now and let you get to the fic.

Okay.  Sooo.
I wrote this aeons ago.  And then it sat in my writing folder for a while, stewing.  With some tweaks here and there, making it better, but...it's still not where I want it to be.  And probably never will be.  Like most pilot episodes, this one has problems.  I by no means think it's bad, it's just...really old.  And I have images in my head that I can't quite get down on paper.
...And there are probably some 'setting this in the UK' issues that I haven't worked through.  I've gotten better at writing overseas, but it still doesn't feel "native", so to speak.
I might come back and fix it later, once I have a more concrete rather than general idea of the plot arc of the 'season'.
So, the good.  I love the 'verse.  It's loads of fun casting people from one show in a different show and seeing how the universe changes.  I'm honestly surprised more people don't write 'casting' fiction, to be honest.  I like Captain Xan.  And Will.  And Giles because it's Giles.  And I actually really like Jesse, here.  (I'm glad he got written out of the main show of Buffy; that amount of depressive snark wouldn't work on Buffy, but it fits in perfectly here.)
Eventually, I'll finish the Choose Your Own Adventure, crossing this AU verse with the main Buffy verse in a Halloween fic because why not.  And figure out how to upload it properly so it works.  That might take a while, though.  It's actually harder to write a CYOA than it looks, because you have to keep track of a bunch of parallel plotlines.  It's like trying to keep the entire multiverse in your head.  I have notes upon notes.
The 'episode' after this one is better.  And unfortunately unfinished.  /sighs
I'll get to it eventually...
As it's rougher than most, any advice/whatever would be greatly appreciated.

Anyway, let's get to the actual thing and have me stop dithering.  Apparently, I'm posting this in parts, because it's way long.  And I have to go soon, so.  I'll have to come back to this later today.  Or tomorrow.  Sometime.
