Wow, we're to the end of this one.
also i need to be better about using tags.  I'll work on fixing that for previously written stuff...coming to a dreamwidth near you soon.

Main Points:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Torchwood crossover
Summary: Would you look at that, more stuff from 2012. This one is a follow-up to a Choose Your Own Adventure Halloween adventure I may or may not finish eventually where Xander ends up with Captain Xan in his head. There's mostly drabbles in this one, with one that's an AtS crossover, a couple that I'll vaguely bundle into one as a Bargaining tag, a couple I'll vaguely bundle into one as a Tabula Rasa tag, and one drabble I'm labeling Slayer Prom because it mostly just involves them dancing in front of a bunch of slayers.  It also has Proto-friend!ship Xander and Buffy interaction.  (I think I echoed the scene later in the Self-Made Hero'verse.)
Word Count: 1476
Rating: Teen
Pairing: Spike/Xander
Warning: Uh, not explicit, but there is more brief sexitimes.  I forgot it existed.  Mostly it exists because Cordy makes for great I Am Not Amused writing (she has the same exact reaction to Slayer's Mad Whelp Xander showing up and threatening Angel with a knife).
/flaily hands *still* don't know what I'm doing with regards to warnings/journal age restrictions...

AtS crossover

After Joyce dies, they go on a trip to England to introduce the Watcher’s Council to Torchwood (some of them even remember it), then to LA. Angel’s not there of course. Partly it’s because Buffy’s being mean to Will/Spike.
Cordy walks in on the two of them. “Get dressed, the both of you. We’re having a meeting.” Xander’s face turned a bright red, but his eyes closed again and he moaned as Spike moved a little, ignoring her. “That includes you, Mr. ‘I don’t to ‘ave to listen to you ‘cause I’m a big bad vampire’,” she stated pointedly. Then she turned on her heel and left the room.
Xan stared after her. “That was kind of scary. I didn’t know she could do accents.”
When they come in, disheveled, it’s quite obvious what they were up to. Thus, Gunn doesn’t end up liking him much. They talk to distract each other from the fear as they shoot at the demons, causing a distraction. They can’t kill them, but they can distract them from munching the civilian population. Sometime in the meantime, the Captain’s suddenly at ease and in a playful mode. He’s suddenly at peace. Doesn’t know why, but doesn’t object. So then he’s the playful, confident Captain.

Bargaining

Xander rushed into the clearing. Willow turned to tell him the good news excitedly, about her power and what she had done. Buffy was back! Now they could have a party and Xan could admire her strength and ingenuity...
Except that look. The one of total, utter disappointment with a touch of betrayal said that he didn’t approve one bit. That he was far from being impressed.
Suddenly, the victory didn’t seem so great, and she felt like she could cry. What was his problem, anyway?

           “What was it like?”
Buffy jumped about a million feet in the air and turned to see Xander, who gave her an apologetic smile. He hadn’t meant to scare her, then. “Whaa?”
Xan answered with a slightly sad expression that she wasn’t used to seeing. Especially not on her Xander’s face. Neither he nor the Captain really liked putting their emotions on display for the world to see. “Heaven,” he clarified simply.
She didn’t move, still in shock. Well, maybe even more so.
He smiled again, amused. “Sometimes Spike and I actually talk, instead of...well, you know. Other activities.” This time the apology in the eyes was for Captain Xan being Captain Xan, and possibly for bringing up the topic in the first place, but there was a pure curiosity there as well. He hadn’t brought it up because he was feeling sorry for her, or because...well, anything else really.
Of course. Anything she told Spike would probably (probably, not certainly, because Spike/Will was still his own person no matter what it occasionally seemed like to others) be passed along to Xander. It was weird to think about, the fact that they were all couply in their own unique way.
She felt the chill thrill through her. It was weird not liking being alive. It was weird feeling like this was the worst possible thing to happen to her, and yet it was a fact. An unchangeable fact, a fixed point that the Captain was so fond of referring to. She pondered how to answer the question, when Xan broke the silence again.
This was weird behavior, even for him. It was...bittersweet. Nostalgic. And yet he didn’t want anything from her, not like the others. He understood that one couldn’t just go through a huge change like this and be normal, that the definition of normal may well have changed for her, but the others weren’t willing to see that or let go of it. He just wanted her to understand that he understood. Support her without intruding. He seemed strangely peaceful, despite the sadness and longing. And for the first time in a long while, she started to feel a little less in pain.
“They didn’t tell me, you know. What they were going to do. Willow said it was because she knew Spike would have tried to stop them, and since we’re a relationship I’d tell him everything. Which is pretty much the truth, but they were better off with what they did because I would’ve tried to stop them too.”
           Buffy blinked. “Why?”
The Captain’s jaw tightened. “Because it was dangerous and selfish. They should’ve thought more about your feelings...”
Suddenly all the frustration came pouring out in a gush. “You can’t know how I feel, Alexander Lavelle Harris! You haven’t...”
“Shut up.” She took an unconscious step back. The look on Xander’s face was scarier than she had ever seen it, a thinly veiled package of anger that terrified even her. “Just shut up and listen, Buffy Summers. I’ve died more times than you have, even if I’m not counting all those memories. There have been times where the Captain wished he didn’t come back from the dead. Times where he hoped he could just find peace. He’s killed himself before in the utter throes of despair, hoping upon hope that he could just call it quits and find a little peace. But he hasn’t. He can’t. He starts going in that direction, possibly, and every single time he’s snatched away shortly after the brink of death. He just wakes up again.” He took a deep, shaky breath, then in a pained whisper she could barely hear, “I just wake up again.”
She had been so focused on her own pain and daze that she hadn’t noticed anything else. Like the fact that Spike and Xander were the only two people in the world who understood her right now.
Something calm started forcing its way back to the surface. “I don’t mind so much. I mean, I’ve got a guy who can’t die unless he’s really stupid, in which case I’ll kill him again, who loves me. I won’t be alone. But at the same time I wondered. I can’t help but wonder. That’s why I asked.”

“I volunteered to go find you using the VM. Find out whether you were good with where you were or rather you actually wanted to come back. But they said no. Too dangerous. I mean, it doesn’t bug me if I die, but getting trapped somewhere and not being able to come back...it’s a legitimate concern. But even then I wouldn’t have found anything.” At Buffy’s questioning look, he sighed, then explained. “As far as I can tell, Heaven dimensions (if there’s more than one), are...well, they require an RSVP.”
           “Huh?”
“If you don’t have an invitation, you can’t come in.”

Tabula Rasa
“I am not gay,” Alex stated with certainty. The cute guy in tweed backed away, looking hurt and adorable. Oh brother. He pulled the man back into his arms.
“Unhand me,” Randy insisted, looking about to burst into tears. He felt a twinge of guilt.
“Sorry, love. Didn’t mean to hurt you,” he insisted, realizing a second after that he’d put on an accent again. Cool. “I’m pretty sure I’m bi, though. Not gay. It may not mean that much but...” he shrugged, smiling slightly, “...knowing anything possible about ourselves is important, right?”
           “Bi?” the man frowned.
“Bisexual. I mean, is it just me or are these girls hot?” He waved a hand encompassing all the girls in the shop. He caught an understanding look from the red-head, one she tried to hide, and a bit of a nod from Randy.
           “Okay, s’pose you’ve got a point there.”
Joan looked up and sniffed. “If you didn’t have a boyfriend, I’d probably hit you. As it is, I get the feeling you’re just naturally a flirt.”

“I knew there must have been a reason I hated you!”
“Hey,” Alex called, smiling softly. “I don’t mind that you’re Randy.” He winked, but it was just flirting. Innuendo, yeah, there was a bit, but mostly it was to calm down the attractive guy. Also, boyfriend?
Randy glanced up and smiled sweetly, caught unawares.
“Dear Lord,” Rupert swore, taking his glasses off and cleaning them. “Young man, you have little right to be talking like that about my son in front of me.”
“Why do I feel like I’ve had this conversation before?” Alex wondered.
“You probably have,” Ainya answered matter-of-factly, like it meant nothing to her.

Slayer Prom

The Captain grinned upon hearing the new band. “Will...” He held out a hand, and their Slayer girls watched in anticipation.
At the beginning of the night, several of them had expressed disappointment or worse that a swing group was playing. By the end, they all thought that such music was ‘the bee’s knees’, especially after watching the two of them dance. Both of them were strong, but fairly light, so they could pull off jumps and throws that most of the couples couldn’t.
