       tak's gaze kind of slides past them as he thinks.  it's a habit he's gotten into of late, and kaito would convince himself he's just overthinking this, especially if the docs didn’t catch anything, if tak didn't seem a little...distant.  out of it, during all this.  there had been concerns of serious brain damage, the doc said, concerns that they decided didn’t apply, based on numerous tests, and kaito can't help but think of worst case scenarios.  it isn't like him usually, but when it comes to tak it seems like his brain can't help but go into overdrive.  it seems like, sure, okay, so kaito’s the one that throws himself at enemies feet first, but tak’s definitely the reckless one.  he doesn’t value his life the way he should, the way kaito does, and it’s upsetting and terrifying because it’s not even something the ex-yakuza can punch.  he can’t stop this, and it stings.
