“Your granddaughter has come out of the cage,” the Egyptian says, and Jouko glances down and smiles wryly.
“I guess I was tricked,” she acknowledges, gracefully allowing the spirit to disappear and the iron bar to fall away. There’s the question of what the man would have done if she had followed through, but she can interrogate him (and her idiot of a grandfather) on their Stands and their uses later. Or, well, the equivalent is asking one question and letting her grandfather babble.
“Into the fight, yes,” That’s a lazy smile. “Beyond that point, not really. You are far stronger than I expected. I thought you were strong, and yet I still underestimated you.”

“What happened to you? You used to be such a good girl, like your mom,” Gramps moans, and that earns the first stirring of emotion—a derisive smile.
“If you think she’s a good girl, you’re even more delusional than I thought, old man,” she spits out.
There’s so much anger inside of her, begging to be let loose. It takes a savage’s delight in pain of ‘the enemy’. Rage and pain and rage and pain. It’s one thing to step in against bullies and those who tried to grope her during PE, and another to send guys to the hospital for asking about her record as a juvenile delinquent. She’s out of control, and the foolish old man isn’t getting that it’s too dangerous.
“Are you sure your granddaughter is up to this?” the foreigner asks, and the anger comes back, blinding.
The evil spirit grabs an iron ball from her grandfather’s pocket. She throws it at the man, who catches it. “Sexism? Really? I’ve beat that out of people before.”
The man smiles. “Well, she clearly has the Joestar spirit, if nothing else.”

Polnareff and Joseph are singing along with the song on the radio at the top of their lungs. Kakyoin joins in, smiling, and glances at the other two.
Avdol is, well. It’s difficult to tell whether that’s a smile or a grimace. Jotaro, though…
If anything, his customary scowl has deepened.
“Come on, favorite grandson of mine! Join in!” Joseph yells above Polnareff.
In turn, he gets a muttered response that might be like “I am your only grandson” and a growl like a wounded animal as Jotaro proceeds to nearly burrow into the seat cushions and promptly fall asleep.

Notes: Actually, I lied. I forgot that I hadn't completely finished the other 'ship fic yet, and by the looks of my homework schedule this week I won't have time until the weekend at least. So here, have a prewritten thing instead. (I swear I will have Shadowed Suspicion done someday and then I can participate in the International Fanworks Day like everyone else. I don't want to upload other things to AO3 yet.)
