This one is weird and was written when I was super into Death Note (especially Matt and L) and Doctor Who.  I think the temptation to ship the two in a weird game!convention way came from a now-deleted Doctor Who fanseries (and also probably a lack of sleep during college).
I like it and don't.  It's slightly cringey but not...I dunno.  I don't know what to say about this one.  It's weird.

okay, the new doctor who was pretty good but i was yelling at the screen for a few solid minutes at the doctor being dumb--she was like 'hey, it's not here' and i was like 'it was a timed thing, you took a shortcut and arrived early, what the blank you're smart, you should be able to figure that out'
technically you get two because I occasionally react to episodes i watched that day
oh, and the first episode of vento aureo?  molta bene

as a person who tends to be very accepting and even welcomes diversity, unless you say something hateful
against someone else which is a pet peeve and gives me an almost visceral reaction (and I really need to learn to try
to speak up and bring them in to the awesomeness instead of>:( srsly), I want to live in the world of star trek

Summary: Tatsuya can't escape his fate.

The falling through time is probably all a hallucination, but it’s interesting, anyway.  And then they’re standing in a circular room, with a checkerboard on the floor and giant columns that reach into space.  They’re greeted by a man with a butterfly mask; the face looks a little familiar, but Tatsuya can’t place it.

“Welcome to the gulf between consciousness and unconsciousness…My name is Philemon.  Have you forgotten?”

They’ve been here before?  And met him?  Maybe that’s why he’s familiar, but still, he’s fairly sure he’s never been here, or seen…

Hands around his throat, choking.  His neck is still sore.  A voice whispering that he can’t die, not like this, not yet.

Not before he’s ready to kill.

“The power you hold is called Persona.  It is the power to summon the selves within you, the gods and demons that you harbor.  The self suffused with divine love, the self capable of demonic cruelty…People live by wearing different masks.  Your current self is only one of these innumerable masks.  Your Persona is also among your countless selves.”

That sounds…right.  A part of him.  He’s not sure what all of it means, but for right now…

Vulcanus.

But this entity doesn’t have just helpful words.  He has a warning of something big, something that they’re going to have to fight.  Why?  Of course, they’re the ones with power, but…  “From time out of mind, beyond oblivion…”  And there’s something about “rumors are reality”, but he’s not sure what that means, either.  If there’s something big going on, though, they’re likely to find out sooner or later.

There’s something useful in all the words, though.  These “chains of fate” Philemon mentions sound remarkably like what the principal had been talking about earlier, which means that he’s probably involved.

Okay, so this was mainly inspired by the fact that a picture of an early Jun Kurosu (Persona 2) resembles Matt Smith to some extent. So now there's a Jun As the Doctor fic. Hurrah!
Also, there's a drawing this is sort of based off of, but as I haven't gotten permission yet, I won't include the link. (I'll get on it eventually... /em sighs So busy!)
This is also based on a conversation with a certain someone, who helped me work out the details.  Thanks, beautiful!  (You know who you are.)  We've been discussing companions, and so far Tatsuya is a given.  Akihiko and Mitsuru seem to be winning so far.  Any other suggestions, guys and gals?
