Summary: The FeMC and Junpei hang out and take a breather.
Word Count: 590
Rating: Gen
Notes: Due to Junpei sort of point of view, swearing (a little). FeMC, on my playthrough, is named Shiomi Kotone (because as much as I like her and MC being bro & sis, Minako sounds stupid to me. Dunno why. Probably just one of those 'people randomly like some names more than other people do, and dislike names more than other people do'. Hamuko more so, though. So Shiomi it is). Other people (Chidori, Akihiko, Fuuka mainly) mentioned.

“Did you ever have a crush on me?” Shiomi asks with no pretext, and Junpei fumbles with his food before taking a deep breath.
“Damn, you’re intimidating sometimes,” he says with something like appreciation before turning his attention to the question. “Yeah, but I’m pretty sure everyone did at some point. But, don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re not Chidori.”
“Nope,” the Leader says, with something like sorrow. She’s danced around it but she’s never directly come out and said she’s sorry for his loss, which he appreciates. That way, he doesn’t have to say something stupid like she doesn’t understand how he feels. “You two were a cute couple. I should’ve been a better wingman, I guess.”
“Aww, come on. Wingmen can’t do everything. Unless they’re me.” He forces a goofy grin, but it’s nice having something else to focus on, and, well. It’s stupid, but she’s the best friend he’s ever had. “Speaking of which, how’s it going with Akihiko-senpai? I don’t have to take him on in a fight yet, do I?”
She breaks out into a smile. It’s not a very feminine one, but this year has been teaching him a lot about women and what they look and act like in the real world. And, oh, dear God, breaking him out of his misogynistic tendencies from his drunk old dad, because he’s not sure how Mitsuru-senpai hasn’t followed him up on that execution comment yet.
“Nope, though he keeps dragging it out. I’m getting the feeling he’s just trying to hog all my time, which is sweet but frustrating.” He gets the feeling she’s talking about something on a slightly different level than he’s hearing, like when she’ll stare for handfuls of minutes at a time at nothing in the lobby of Tartarus, but pushing her doesn’t seem to work very well. “You said everyone had a crush on me at some point.”
“…Yes?” he answers slowly, not quite sure where she’s going at this point. Shiomi’s generally not dangerous and prone to laying verbal traps like Mitsuru-senpai and Yukari, but he’s getting a little cautious by this point.
“Okay. Good. I was wanting to run something Fuuka said the other day by someone, and I know you’re probably the one that won’t blab a secret to everyone if you know it’s a secret and the most likely to have insight.”
She’s looking a little hesitant, and it takes him a minute to process the conversation. Then he blinks. “Oh, man, you’ve got a girl crushing on you? Awe-some!” He’s a little too loud and instantly gets shushed. He quiets, a little guiltily, but is still grinning. He’s missed their little talks.
“Well, Mitsuru-senpai has a girl who’s always talking about her in the hallway. And threatened me if I didn’t have any swimsuit pictures. It’s not like it’s not a thing at our school. I’m just…I’m not used to dealing with this, so I’m not sure how to tell. I don’t want to hurt her feelings, if so.” Kotone-chan states the information as if it’s well known, which is another issue, but he can address that later.
“Well, tell me all, ‘cause Junpei’s da man!” He punches his fist in the air, and despite the fact that he’s being too loud again she smiles.
Shiomi’s missed this too, and okay, so he’s not dating a beautiful girl, but a beautiful girl who’s the leader of the group is relying on him for advice again, and he’s not about to let her down.
