Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Summary: Giorno acts his age for once, and Mista finds it cute.
Word Count: 380
Spoilers for the end of Vento Aureo/Golden Wind. Like canon, ambiguously shippy (mostly because Mista still has no idea he's actually in love with Giorno. he's a bit oblivious that way)
Occurs after Wanderling
Warning for probably just a small cold (because I refuse to believe Giorno, flower boy, has allergies). Written before any of this, but I don't want to stomp on anyone's feet.
Without warning, Giorno sneezes into his sfogliatelle. It’s not often that he shows his emotions clearly on his face, but even Mista can see the surprise and almost betrayal on that angelic face. He looks like he’s his age, for once, and is probably going to start pouting adorably any minute.
Mista can’t help it. He starts laughing.
That blue-eyed gaze turns toward him, steely and disapproving, and he claps his hands over his face, as if that’s going to help hide it. “I—I’ll get you another one,” he manages, an olive branch.
In response, Giorno stuffs the rest in his mouth. He manages, somehow, to make even that look dignified, but still—that’s probably not a good idea.
“Hey, hey, what if you’re sick? That can’t be good for you,” he states in alarm, bodyguard instincts kicking in, and behind him he hears the Pistols complaining about how Giorno should’ve given the rest to them, they’re starving.
Giogio chews for a few moments before he responds. “If I’m sick, I’m already exposed to my own germs, Mista. Though I appreciate your offer for a new one.” Given his glance toward the store, he really is expecting Mista to buy him a new one, and he probably ought to get one for the Pistols, too, just so they won’t mutiny again.
“Yeah, sure. You do have a sweet tooth, don’t you, Boss?” Still, it’s the least he can do. Giorno deserves everything.
Once he returns with the pastry, Giorno takes it and closes his eyes for a moment. It’d taken Mista a little while to realize that the golden Boss of the Passione, while not vegetarian, refuses to consume anything that isn’t cruelty free, which had soon led to a change in the kinds of foods available in the parts of Italy strong under his influence, and that, while not religious, Giovanna also always took a moment to thank the wheat, and the source of the whey for the cheese, and anything else living that lent itself to be consumed. It’s odd, but thoughtful. But then, that could be said of practically anything Giorno did. And Mista feels privileged, having learned these things about his boss that other capos and even influential other mobsters like Rigatoni would never know.
