Thanks, Windows 10.  Just what I always wanted, an update that makes me worry about ransomware ("Don't worry, all your files are where you left them" oh, yeah, we'll definitely read that as reassuring and NOT COMPLETELY OMINOUS) and, as a matter of fact, lie about the matter (I had Spybot and Malawarebytes on my computer for a reason.  And Adobe Reader.  ...what are you even thinking?).

Never take anything for granted.

                Xander’s eyes are definitely not dry when he opens the umbrella and joins Abby.

                “Rule number eight?” she asks, having stared like the rest at the tombstone with confusion.

                “Juniper wanted it to be ‘Rule Number One’, but we argued it was a little too depressing, so she decided on Number Eight instead.  I’m glad about that.  It’s still a dying message, but, y’know, a little more hopeful than it would have been.”

                “Never let suspects stay together?” she asks, scrunching up her nose a little in confusion.

                “Slayer’s Rules.  Don’t die,” he states simply, and smiles a little through the tears at the compassionate hug he gets, and hopes that, whatever afterlife she ended up in, Juniper’s smiling too.
