madimpossibledreamer: Jiraiya|Yosuke jumping and using a throwing star (ace)
(oh man I just found this collecting dust this series was written so long ago I don't even remember what was happening wow)

Main Points:
Life is Strange/Yugioh (GX?) Crossover (it's set in Duel Academy, but so far no canon Yugioh characters are scheduled to appear)
Summary:
Max uses her new Deity card.
Word Count: 195
Rating: gen

She reaches out to draw a card, and her hand trembles, frozen.  She can’t move.
“Aw, come on.  You gonna just give up like that?”
It looks like a surrender.  It’s anything but.
Something…something breaks, and reality shifts, and suddenly everything is moving backwards.
She watches in shock as Chloe puts cards back in her hand and on top of the deck.  As her own hand changes back.  Four turns ago.
            “…your move or what?”
            She blinks, shaking her head.
“Your head in this duel or what, Caulfield?”  Chloe’s derisive words bring her back to reality.  Probably reality.
Last time, that had provoked her into playing her Negate Attack Trap card, which had subsequently been wiped off the field with Harpie’s Feather Duster.  This might all just be a hallucination brought on by the stress of this week, but…can’t hurt to be careful, right?
She shakes her head, giving a slight smile.  “I’m ending my turn.”  She’s currently got A Hero Emerges down, which didn’t work last time anyway, so it’s not as big a loss.
Chloe stares at her as if she’s grown two heads, but shrugs.  “No skin off my nose.  I draw!”

Life is Strange/Yugioh (GX?) Crossover (it's set in Duel Academy, but so far no canon Yugioh characters are scheduled to appear)
Summary:
Max got a rare Deity card, but it's gone missing.
Word Count: 350
Rating: gen

Max is looking frantically in her bag.  Janus had been with her deck, but the card had subsequently gone missing.  She’d gone to the bathroom, and Victoria had been looking more smug than usual, so she had the feeling that one of the few things she’d managed to get that was good was gone.
“Oh, look, poor Max looks like she lost something.  She’s so absent-minded; I wonder where it could be.”
Victoria’s gaggle giggles maliciously as she twirls a card between her fingers—and there’s the flash of blue sparkle.  Of course.
Except in the space between blinks, the sparkle flashes and then changes to a dull, earthy tone, and Max blinks a couple more times to see if she’s seeing things.
               She’s not.
On a hunch, she checks her bag again, and there, right on top of her deck where she could hardly have failed to miss it, is that familiar blue butterfly.
Well, that just happened… she thinks, and hurries away before Victoria can realize it, too.  The card had just…teleported.
She’d heard all the weird stories about the first King of Games, Yugi Muto, who seemed like a straightforward kind kid until rumors about the Shadow Games or what have you came up, and then he went all quiet and mysterious.  Kaiba, his rival, disavowed any and all of “that nonsense”, leaving most of the dueling world of the opinion that it was all just superstitious idiocy.  There was no such thing as Duel Spirits or magic.  All well and good, but…
“That doesn’t explain what just happened,” she whispers, taking the card out and staring at it again.  “Are you real?”
“Oh, hey, Max!  You know, they say that talking to your cards is either a sign that you’re a great duelist or that you’re insane.”
“I might be a bit of both, today,” she says with a smile, turning to Warren.
“Man, I heard.  That big scene in class today sounds like something straight out of a movie.  Mind if I see the Card That Started It All?”
She hands it over, and he whistles.  “Oh, wow.  That is majorly cool.”

Main Points:
Life is Strange/Yugioh (GX?) Crossover (it's set in Duel Academy, but so far no canon Yugioh characters are scheduled to appear)
Summary:
Max is a good duelist, but she also happens to be a Ra Yellow with no ambition.
Word Count: 450
Rating: gen

               Max isn’t a bad duelist.
“Come on, class is starting!”  Kate.
               “Coming!”
She just…prefers to watch.  Maybe it’s shyness.  Maybe it’s that she finds it more fascinating to wield a camera, to be the one on the sidelines.  Being a journalist of the dueling world is her dream job.  The one with the camera, of course.  Being in front of the camera or writing the stories is a little too much responsibility for her, never mind the fact that she loves her camera.  She usually spends money on more film and never changes up the battered old deck she uses.
For the first time in a while, though, she’s got a little left over to buy a booster.  Since she never buys any, she has no idea which of the sets will best fit her deck.  It’s a good thing Tome-san is such a helpful lady and knows the contents of the store inside and out.
It’s sitting in her bag, now.  She might open it in class.  Mr. Jefferson is a good teacher, and kind of cute, but her curiosity is getting the better of her.
It’s a mistake, though, because Victoria, that Obelisk Blue snob, comes over to taunt her.  “Oh, look, Max finally has enough pocket change for one booster.  Maybe we could all pitch in as charity for the Ra, since it’s been exactly how long since you’ve won?  Maybe changing up your deck will help.”
She runs out of things to say, though, when she grabs the cards from Max’s hands before she can even look at them.  Mr. Jefferson comes over, frowning, and carefully takes the cards.  “I’ve never heard of this card, but then, with Maximillion Pegasus as head of Industrial Illusions, that’s not surprising.  This may be a one-of-a-kind card, Max.”
He hands them back, and Max gasps, taking the card out from the rest.  At a glance, she knows it’s special.  She can’t name the rarity off the top of her head, but knows that precise sparkle is reserved for only the most precious of cards, and she’s never heard of it nor its archetype before.  “Janus, the Two-Faced Deity,” she reads out loud, hand trembling, staring at the brilliant blue butterfly featured prominently.
“Janus is the Roman god of doorways and time, Max,” Kate says quietly, smiling, having scooted closer to look at the card.  “It’s beautiful.”
She will definitely have to tune her deck and figure out a card to replace, because there is no way she is not having this one in her deck.  Painting isn’t really her thing, but the level of detail…as far as the sparkle and fantasy go, it still looks real.  Like a photograph.
