Murad Abdul Rahman has worked for the Speedwagon Foundation for twenty-three years so far. At this point, he’s not exactly surprised by anything that happens. He doesn’t fully understand what happened with this whole world-merging thing. He’s read the general memo, of course, mostly sent due to the need to keep Agents and the administrative staff from panicking about the fact that their memories didn’t exactly match the records and concluding there had been a Stand attack, because that’s the most likely cause. It doesn’t have the details, but it was not an attack and that’s all he really needs to know.

Sometimes he wants to know more of the details. More than just the gossip at the cafeteria, as intriguing as it is to catch details of snippets as the agents return or share stories about the Joestars which sound absolutely larger than life. But he doesn’t really need to, not for his position. Acquisitions mostly involves just booking Dr. Kujo’s hotels, covering travel expenses, and the like. He doesn’t file the agent reports; that’s for the archivists, though at least one prefers the title ‘librarian’. He’s not even the one who assigns the various agents to conflicts around the world. He’s in the know enough to have heard the word ‘Stands’ and even ‘vampires’, but he’s never had the privilege (or misfortune) to have ever actually seen one. He’s heard enough of the stories, sometimes in hushed tones, sometimes when the real estate magnate Joseph Joestar, now retired, wanders around to the office to spend an hour telling stories in a bombastic, enthusiastic voice, even if his accent is fading in a parallel to his energy as he ages, to know roughly what they are and how they work, although most of what he knows about Stands is that unlike vampires they usually follow their own internal logic, like dreams, rather than being consistent with the rules of how they work. He doesn’t control the finances; they’ve got accountants from around the world on that.

So he’s curious, but he also doesn’t need to know to adequately fulfill his duties. He wants to know more about their new allies—at least he’s vaguely familiar with Passione, but he’s never heard of the Council before. Not unexpected, really—there’s many organizations around the world that keep their true activities concealed (the Speedwagon Foundation might technically be one of them, although some of their activities, like investing in more sustainable energy, like solar panels, are known to the world), but to have not heard of them at all is an oddity. Still, he suspects that has to do with the world-merging thing, and it’s not necessary, either. There’s been a sudden ramp up in activity recently. He doesn’t know the exact cause, but they do get the emails about Agent deaths, and there were a few recently. Not entirely unexpected, either—being a Speedwagon Foundation Agent isn’t exactly a safe occupation, something that means that while he’s curious he also has no interest in putting himself in the field, only serving as support. But even then, several at once isn’t exactly normal. So all the coordination, all the preparation, all the movement, that’s pretty much to be expected, and he’s happy to help out—the overtime pay doesn’t hurt, either.
