Cast of Characters (listed the Japanese way of surname first): Amaya-kai-yakuza clan most of the main cast is in
Shirahata Mako, member of the Miyamoto-gumi, a direct subsidiary of the Amaya-kai
Inoue Yuu (Andrew), Captain of the Miyamoto-gumi, a direct subsidiary of the Amaya-kai
Miyamoto Cordy, Ani-san ("husband") of the Miyamoto-gumi, a direct subsidiary of the Amaya-kai, as herself
Miyamoto Suna (Xander), Matriarch of the Miyamoto-gumi, a direct subsidiary of the Amaya-kai
Author's Notes: In this universe, Japan is run by the women. As usual Miyamoto's dialogue is kinda in slangy Kansai-ben. As they're female yakuza, some of the traditions/punishments have some connection with sukeban (girl gang) traditions (the punishment). More severe punishments might result in yubitsume (finger cutting) or...we could call it seibatsu, as a kind of Japanese pun, because sei can mean life, essence, growth, or death, and batsu is punishment. Basically, as an alternative to taibatsu, corporal punishment (usually used in teaching/sports), punishing the soul/essence instead, and for the same purpose ("to make the person grow"). It tends to be thrown around far more freely than physical punishment because it's harder for the outsiders, such as cops, to notice, and thought of as less damaging (which is probably complete and utter bs, but...it's the yakuza). Akiyama Yoko (Willow) is thought of as creepy because her punishments involve weird things like turning people into rats, which is far from tradition and thus freaks even the hardiest of yakuza out.
Terms: not really anything this time, but it's short and mostly dialogue
More author's notes: background notes
Main Points:
Buffy/Yakuza AU (Bloody Petals)
Chapter Summary: faster to read
Word Count: 75
Rating: Teen
“Black Widow’s a weakling!”
“You take that back!”
Cordy rubs at her eyes. It’s far too early at this point.
“Okay, to start with, Natasha’s been trained to take out supers, so Shirahata’s right. It ain’t as easy as ya make out. Second, it’s far too early for this talk, and if you keep me up, there’s cigs waitin’ fer arms t’burn.”
“What’s going on?”
“We judge who we could take out. There’s a pool.”
