Yosuke huffed a sigh and glanced up, realizing that as much as he really wanted to get this through in one shot, he needed a break. The work was going slower than even he'd anticipated. Whatever the concealment thing was, the magic was a whole lot more persistent than he could tell at first. If such a thing was possible, he was beginning to have the sneaking suspicion that somehow the concealment was managing to conceal itself to a large degree, and that was seriously cheating. He wandered into the main area to find the pretty secretary lady hanging around, trying to appear as if she hadn't been waiting for him, even though she obviously had. He hid his grin.
“You have a few scars,” Cordy pointed out, pouring him some more of that awful coffee. It was terrible and he really didn’t want it, but he needed the energy after the morning he’d had and he wasn’t about to drink blood, which appeared to be one of the other things with some calories left in the hotel. They really needed to…well, do a lot of things.
Maybe if he ended up owing the vampire a favor or two, he could invite Souji over and they could begin to fix up the place. Of course, they’d probably have to do it in different rooms or it would take much longer than intended due to a little distraction. In fact, he’d probably be better off somewhere else while Souji single-handedly tore it down and made it into the Ritz, because that was just the sort of guy Souji was.
“Yeah.” He laughed. “Getting a motorcycle probably wasn’t the best of ideas, but I really wanted to have one.”
Her eyes lit up. One of those ‘attractive’ things, then. Of course, with his healing, it didn’t matter that it was incredibly dangerous for him, but whenever he was wandering the city with Souji he insisted on public transportation. Even when Souji was a perfect driver, he didn't trust all the other reckless drivers on the roads. “I’m a little clumsy, but…eh, I haven’t killed myself yet, so that’s a plus side, right?”
“Definitely,” Cordelia agreed. "So, you know about Japanese stuff?"
“A fair amount, actually. Used to live there.” Technically, true. And he was all about the technicalities. They made his life possible, and he loved his life at the moment.
“Really?” she stared at him, even more than she had been before. “You don't look like it.”
Blunt, but he liked that. He'd flirt more, except she might actually take it seriously, and he didn't want that at the moment. Not when he had something really good at the moment. He didn't want to mess that up. “Yeah, well…” he scratched at the back of his head, “….My family's lived there for a couple generations, but I decided to move away. A bit stifling, really. The rest of the world was new and exciting.” He sighed, then straightened. “I really don't want to, but I should probably get back to work.”
She tisked him, and he laughed. “Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, you're probably the only one who does any work around here.”
