“Satonaka.” Souji tries not to laugh at the way she suddenly sits up like she’s about to salute at any minute. Suou-san doesn’t bother to try to hide the smirk. They must share a little of the same sense of humor, then. Perhaps he would have found the ‘we’re doomed’ or ‘I’m about to cry’ funny, then. “You want to become a police officer, right?”
“Absolutely! I’m going to help protect people!” Chie-chan shouts, energetic as ever.
“Well, what are they always saying when it comes to suspects?” She doesn’t get it, so Suou-san prompts her, “Means?”
“Motive, opportunity,” she finishes automatically and then sighs. “Oh.”
There’s a reason Suou-san is a police officer, it seems, as he elaborates. “Yeah, oh. Sure, the killer isn’t using a gun or a Persona. But they still have to have been able to throw the victim into the TV. Are they strong, or do they need to drug their victims? So far they’ve all been women, so it’s possible it’s just sheer strength, but even then, the police would’ve noticed signs of a struggle. What TVs are they using? Are there any big enough in the victim’s homes, or are they somehow carrying around a TV with them?”
“And even then, when and how are they doing that without someone else noticing?” Yosuke adds, getting enthusiastic. “I get your point, Suou-san,” he adds with a cheesy grin, and Suou-san just shakes his head, but it’s clear by his eyes that he’s smiling slightly.

“But it’s a supernatural means of killing. Conventional policework isn’t going to help us any here,” Yosuke argues, and Suou-san narrows his eyes and leans back in his chair defiantly. This is going to be interesting to watch, and as Souji catches Kashihara-san’s eye, it’s clear he’s not the only one who will be entertained by coming events. Souji suspects a little of what’s coming—he’s the one that decided to look into Suou-san’s and Kashihara-san’s alibis to ease Yosuke’s suspicions and his own worries.
