Main Points:
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure AU (where the joestars & friends play innocent sin online) iso//sq
This occurs alongside 1, 2, and 3 (v1).  4 has Bleach characters playing iso (v2), so while it's technically in the side quests series, it's not directly related to this one.
as well as being possibly nonbinary, in this set Jotaro is also probably autistic.
Summary: Kakyoin enjoys learning more about his crush.  Even through his roommate Polnareff's teasing.
Word Count: 680
Rating: Gen
Warning: brief, but discussion of Joseph's canonical anti-Asian racism, Sadao's possible fatherly neglect

Jotaro’s second character, once he unlocks it, is a Banisher.  It’s interesting, since most people don’t change playstyles all that much.  As usual, he doesn’t get that’s a big deal.  Or he does, but he doesn’t get why that’s a big deal, because he usually doesn’t get why social customs are the way they are.
“I was curious,” is all he says, and Kakyoin can easily believe that.  He doesn’t show that the same way anyone else does, any more than he shows any other emotion the same way anyone else does, but he’s curious often, Kakyoin’s come to understand.
If he’s bored or doesn’t care, he often seems impatient or removes himself from a situation or finds some other distraction.  So if he’s still there, willingly putting himself in a situation, or even on occasion asking questions that sometimes seem like statements, particularly when he’s tired, he’s curious or getting something else out of the situation.
He likes learning, but not about everything.  He has particular topics he’s like a sponge.
He often seems bored when he’s playing Innocent Sin Online, so much so that at first Kakyoin had been reluctant to bother him, concerned about making a nuisance of himself, particularly to his crush.  But he willingly comes back, day after day, and makes some remark that he’d been lectured by his father about playing too many video games.  He’s even slowly going through every Class, though he drops many of them before even making level 10.
Computer games are different, he explains to a bemused Kakyoin.  It largely comes down to the mouse versus controller, Kakyoin finally is able to determine, because Jotaro has problems holding a controller correctly.  He also has this notion that computer games are somehow superior, at which point Kakyoin becomes determined to find a console game Jotaro will like, if it’s his life’s quest to get there.
And though he seems annoyed often, Kakyoin—because he’s paying so much attention—quickly learns that actual situations where he feels that way are rare.  Like any occasion where he talks about his father (‘never home’, is how he puts it tersely; Kakyoin researches Sadao Kujo, ignoring his roommate teasing him in the background, and puts the answers together on his own), or even his grandfather.  “Mom loves him.”
        That seems to aggravate him.
“You seem upset about that,” Kakyoin remarks.  At first, during their friendship, Jotaro had been taken aback, clear only by the slight pause before he continued, but he’d soon adjusted.
“I’m mixed.”  And then he smirks, just a slight smirk that honestly takes Kakyoin’s breath away.  “In multiple senses, actually.”
“That is terrible humor and I approve wholeheartedly,” Polnareff informs him cheerfully.  “Have fun, you two!”
Jotaro blinks blankly to the left of the screen, where his nuisance of a roommate is heading to work, and Kakyoin curses his pale complexion and hopes he’s not blushing too deeply.  “Ignore him.”
“I usually do,” Jotaro agrees, ignoring the Frenchman’s indignant if distant “I heard that!” before the door slams.  It takes him a moment to collect his thoughts, but Kakyoin gives him that time.
“Thing is, we almost always have to go see him.  He’s hardly ever interested in coming to Japan.  And when he does, he complains about anything non-Western.”  Racist, Kakyoin realizes, if not transphobic.  Pretty good reason to feel mixed feelings.  “Sometimes Mom will call him on it, like insisting on making Japanese food or making him call her Seiko-chan, but she doesn’t stand up to him too much.”
This is all good to know, but jerk or not, Kakyoin will still feel guilty about Jojo brooding for the rest of the day if not multiple days.  And he’s definitely noticed the trend—water-only demons and spirits.  He’d have a water Pokemon team if he had any clue the series existed, Kakyoin is sure.  “So, you’ve been busy with demon and shiki recruiting.”
“I guess.”  The words are unconcerned; the tone vaguely proud.  “Let me introduce you.”  It’s the closest Kakyoin’s seen him get to monologuing and it’s cute.
