Aoki Mayuho (Dani Oliver)-Akkorokamui

Aoki has a different irezumi than her counterpart.  She now has the Akkorokamui, a giant octopus that allows regeneration (so she will just throw limbs at someone if necessary and then invoke to freak them out in a very Giorno way).  She’s contrary but loyal in a way that just slots right into the Miyamoto Family.  Miyamoto got dangerous about ‘so that’s what ya really think’a Nao-chan’, and Aoki insisted ‘let me show off, Ofukuro’ and then proceeded to beat up enough of them to earn respect, because the hell about her past, she’s strong, and that’s what matters to the family.

The writing refers to her meeting with Miyamoto.  Bigots were beating her to death, and she was doing well for only having street fighting knowledge.  While not in a gang herself at the time, she’d been forced to learn, because while on paper as long as you act within your perceived gender you’re okay, bigotry still exists, particularly when your mom tips them off that she forced you out and you’re now living on the street.  She swore then to become one of the Miyamoto-gumi, and showed up and was an errand girl for three days before anyone realized she wasn’t officially a member of the family yet.  Miyamoto offered to get her a nice cushy civilian job, but when Aoki insisted agreed to pay for the irezumi instead.

*Akkorokamui-respected, can regrow after damage, fickle, bestow knowledge, persistent, near impossible to escape, glowing red, purification (octopuses in general-sexual, doctors-healing)
