posting idle thought today because I'm going to be busy on Saturdays in the foreseeable future so writing for sundays might be a thing that is more likely to happen it just suddenly hit me.  anya's usually played off either as a joke or evil, but: she has in her long long years of demonship gotten at least one pedophile.  one rapist.  one abuser.  one murderous "nice guy".  the exact numbers are probably much higher.  sure, some innocents probably got caught up in it too.  there's probably at least one girl that didn't actually wish that on her boyfriend.  she was just drunk and it was just the one fight that they had because they're separate people in a relationship, not a hive mind.  but compared to the vast, vast majority of terrible men she's protected women from?  probably just a droplet of water. unfortunately. that's...mind blowing and a very feminist commentary that didn't appear in a feminist show because it's difficult a conversation for the likes of whedon because it would require him to unpack his privilege.  Note: i'm not advocating for violence against men or anything like that.  I'm just saying the conversation's one worth having, and if there's "good" violence punishing rapists is a good deal better than, say, Angel, or Spike, or Faith, and it's a convo worth having.
