        “So, once I stopped whining about the whole spiky situation, I set out to help people.”  It’s not…lying.  Not exactly.  Lying would imply that he thought he could get away with it and that no one would notice.  Tall tales are meant to be fun and for everyone to enjoy, and that definitely seems to fit Xander more.  Though whenever he starts getting really interesting, he gets interrupted and loses the flow.
        Willow doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo.  Then again, while she might’ve gotten more flexible, she’s still more a rule-follower than anyone else except maybe Giles.  Strike that, definitely Giles, considering he’s absented himself to read books by candlelight.  It’s definitely less entertaining than this, though.  He’s missing out.  “Xander,” she says in that no-nonsense tone that makes him pout every time, and now is no exception.
        “I’m not kidding!  Okay, admittedly I am an intelligent and had no clue about how to go about doing that in the first place, but still.”  It’s annoying, having the power go out.  Buffy’s itching to go fix it, despite the fact that Giles said from what he can tell using magic it’s perfectly natural and Xander nosing around the scene agreed.  But Xander telling stories is almost as entertaining as the Bollywood movies she was looking forward to watching.  “I’d just figured out I could teleport between shadows, so I was trying that out, when a man ran in like he was being chased.  Turned out he was—he thought it was this whole ‘rival corporation espionage’ thing and he’d just been followed around, and, well, he wasn’t just imagining things, anyway.  ‘Course, this was before I knew the fine folks at Gold Rush or anything, so my ‘methods’ were maybe a little less refined than even now.  Took me a while to find out that he’d been right on the money, sorta—Hrogdon do act on their own, when they see a target they think is worth it, but this time they were hired for a couple unwillingly donated pints of blood.  They don’t eat it, so I’m not sure why they’d want it, and Kryvi assured me that I didn’t want to know.  He doesn’t always notice things like that, so I get the feeling he’s right, but…I dunno, I keep thinking of blood graffiti for some reason.  The most fun part was teleporting in and fighting in the server room, because there were alarms I wasn’t sure if I’d set off, and avoiding breaking the computers was a little, uh, tricky…”
        He absolutely broke at least one, Buffy reflects, settling down with popcorn and munching happily.
