New Resident Evil Movie

I don't tend to keep track of a lot of the news so I wasn't aware this was even coming. I'm not especially happy with any of the casting, because I only recognized Birkin and Claire right away and Claire was easy because of the jacket. Legit, I thought that Leon was Carlos. At least get the hair, man. That hair is iconic. (I mean...maybe that hairstyle is really hard to get for Live Action? Though from what I remember Edgeworth managed it in the Live Action.) I'm trying to decide if it would be too stereotypical and I think I've come down on the side of the fence of 'innocent boy scout Leon' might not be offensively stereotypical, 'angsty flirty angry alcoholic Leon' definitely would be. Angry Latino and Sexy Latino are not things you want to be doing, and while you could do a nuanced, thoughtful job...I'm not sure that's possible within the allotted amount of time.
See, my biggest concern is, trying to smash RE1 & 2 (and apparently Code Veronica?) into one movie? That's going to be really rushed, I feel. You're not going to have the time for that nuance.
Also, no Barry. I will start a 'bring back Barry' chant if I have to. He gets all the best lines.
The international trailer was definitely better, and there were some things I definitely liked. (The mansion? Amazing.) In general, I guess I'm hoping it'll be goofy enough to be entertaining, and definitely don't plan to see it in theatres. (Variants still a little too intimidating 4 me.)
