Alvin might be slightly inspired, in look anyway, by Tam Lin in Megaten/SMT and Raidou Kuzunoha. I love writing these characters.
Main Points:
Buffy/Devil May Cry
Chapter Summary: Alisha tries to protect little Arianna in Xander and Buffy's absence and gets some unexpected backup.
Word Count: 740
Rating: Teen
“I heard. I wanted to hear.” She’s a little louder now. “Daddy got him. Is he going to get me and Mommy, too?”
“We still have his team. They’re good. Remember the lady who did his nails?” They really shouldn’t have to rely on a group of teenagers, but even if she knew what she was doing, there’s only so much she could do to personally fight demons. She doesn’t have years of experience or training; everything she’d done was to subdue human suspects without killing them.
“I like her. But if they got Mister, nobody’s safe.” She whimpers. “And I wasn’t able to protect him from the bad feelings.”
It’s a bit of a gamble, but Xander had mentioned the girl had some kind of power. “That’s not your fault. The bad feelings were demons.”
Ari’s eyes open wide as she processes the idea, crying abruptly stopped, then she nods. “I got it.”
“We’re going to rescue him, and we’re going to stop your dad. After all, Scar doesn’t win in the end, does he?” She’s only seen bits and pieces when working with children at the station, but if nothing else she knows how Disney constructs their endings.
“He wins for a bit and then he loses. This is the part where he kills Mufasa, but Xander will return like Simba.” It’s very possibly a stretch, but whatever lets the girl have a little hope.
“And you can’t let your mom or anyone else know until after the court case. They can’t show weakness.” Kids keeping secrets from their parents is a bad idea, she knows, but in this case Jane is barely keeping it together. Giles is supposed to use a spell to allow her to stay calm, but, again, she doesn’t know the limits.
Ari bites her lip and nods.
“Shouldn’t both of you be asleep?” She knows the voice, but there’s a dark tone to it that she doesn’t recognize. Camilla. Ari glances at her, fear in her eyes, and that confirms the wrong feeling she gets when she looks at the other officer.
“Weren’t you supposed to be investigating the cult?” she asks, just to make sure.
“Alleged cult. There was nothing there.” Alisha gets the feeling Camilla, or rather the thing possessing her, is laughing at her, at her powerlessness.
“Well, the little lady should be asleep, but I’m not tired.” What with the adrenaline, she’s wide awake. Can they really do this without Xander, if even those sent to investigate aren’t safe from—
Oh. That’s the mental influence Giles had referenced. She’s seen Xander be stabbed through the heart, and he’s got a good team. She’s not sure how he found McDonald, but he seemed unintimidated by any of it, and his confidence is contagious. Giles was researching a spell.
And then the doorbell rings. She’s not sure whether to answer the door, but Ari practically flees downstairs, so Alisha has to follow.
She doesn’t expect the face she sees on the other side, but she’s very happy for it. It’s Alvin Findel, or rather, that’s the name he goes by as a human (she rather suspects, by the way he’d had a slight twinkle in his eye as he introduced himself, he’d chosen a name that amused him and might possibly be a not-so-obvious Glorfindel reference, looking at it after the fact knowing that he’s not human). From what she could tell, he’d wanted to help, but had his orders as the head of the security team.
“The Foundation sent me; it’s part of my duties to look after clients we believe to be in need of security as well as legal representation. Here’s my card, though I would hope you still remember me, Officer Sullivan.”
“Of course,” she responds, taking he card and inspecting it even as she moves aside.
Ari’s staring at him, and at least she’s not scared the same way she’d been with Officer Martin. “…Do you know Xander?”
“Of course. He was of great help to the Wellingtons. I’ll tell you the story later, but you have to sleep first.” He glances up, smiling pleasantly in the face of the glare Camilla’s directing his way.
“Okay!” the girl agrees, yawning, and there’s the hope she needed.

Alisha stands, ready to go find the girl and tell her, only to find a small girl at the doorway, crying silently. “Oh, honey.” She really should’ve been more careful.
“I heard. I wanted to hear.” She’s a little louder now. “Daddy got him. Is he going to get me and Mommy, too?”
