It strikes me as more 'fun background material' than 'this should inform your reading'.
Hahev is one of those words that doesn't have an easy translation. Yes, it's technically "nest", but also "home", "safe". You make it your own, and only those you like or trust are allowed in. So Xander's casual "sure, random strangers Buffy and Giles, you can stay here" was a huge gesture, particularly given Giles' hostility, even if none of them quite got how important it was at the time. Pashran are very social, though they might be picky about that. Blood matters, but it's not the 'blood matters' of 'you're stuck with them and but FAAAAAMILYYYY' no matter what they do, it's 'you have a responsibility to them, even to your kids, to love and cherish them as they are and provide them an environment to grow into themselves'. It's not perfect (they're still devils, if vaguely friendly), but abuse is one of the biggest crimes in Pashran society, and probably a reason for exile or at least interventions, depending on the severity and likelihood of repeat offenses. In cases like that (and with Harris), it's not only acceptable but perfectly encouraged to have a family of choice (and Pashran families tend to be half families of choice under even normal circumstances, hence calling them 'social').
Tarukwul are a big deal. Xander doesn't make a big deal of it because this is Xander and he handwaves or cracks jokes about anything serious. It's a 'you have done a fantastic job', it's 'we need to have a huge party', it's 'you can let go of the past and move on'. GUESS WHICH ONE XANDER HAS PROBLEMS WITH.
as with many of the words for Pashran, ukron doesn't actually mean individuals, but that's its rough translation. It's actually plural like 'men'-Shadow Devils, though it can be generalized to mean just 'they' rather than a specific species. Kron is, however, also one of the various Pashu words that mean 'darkness', so ukron is the equivalent, not the literal meaning. Pash also means shadow, while ran means a group or collective, like a group of shadows (you might use it to refer to the shadows of a flock of birds as they fly overhead, for instance, or the shadows of a group of trees).
oh, yeah, pronunciation guide. a is pronounced ɑː as in father. u is pronounced (in Pashu and tarukwul) as uː like in too. in ukron, u is ʊ (as in put) and the o is ɔ, as in on or Ron. e is pronounced as the diphthong eI (like in say) in hahev. y used is the English version to what everyone else uses j for (ya = ja). (transcribing vowels from the language into English is a pain. As it is probably with lots of other languages, because English is the grab-bag of languages.)
for now all I'll say about the v is that it wasn't original to Pashu but was brought in by some of their Light/Sun Devil rivals. the rest of the consonants are pretty much the same, though I should note that in some cases, such as tarukwul, the r does get rolled. I'll go into the rest of the names later, probably. Xander does offer a completely sensible translation.
