Sobek (Stands So Far Series)

While the exact truth will probably never be known, it is suspected that Peter Gabriel and perhaps his partner Lacuna Coil used to be spies for one of the governments of the world.  By the time they took a contract from DIO, however, they were firmly in the mercenary camp, using charm, skills such as lockpicking, and their not inconsiderable fighting capabilities to steal secrets and assassinate targets with equal ease.  Given Stands by DIO, they only grew more deadly, not less.

Gabriel hides a thrill-seeker behind well-tailored suits.  He’ll show himself to his enemies to draw fire on missions that call for violence, unlike Coil, using Sobek’s jaws, bullets, and knives to create openings for Apophis.  This has led to more than a few fights between the two, and is the only source of conflict between the two.  Fortunately, from the report Koichi gave, it seems Gabriel died.  In most cases, we would like to rehabilitate Stand criminals, but the best we could get with Gabriel is paying him more than anyone else, and that’s not sustainable.

            Sobek has two distinct modes of operation.  The first is a solo, more normal Stand type.  In this form, it appears as a large bronze crocodile, though if it has, say, recently run through a wall, the dust helps it hide better.  Like its more terrestrial counterparts, it is an ambush predator, preferring to hide then attack.  It can, however, transition to a suit Stand, making Gabriel appear bare-chested, with the green crocodile’s head and an Egyptian headdress.  In this form, it has better durability but no range to speak of (aside from the reach of its powerful jaws).

Pointed of Teeth-Sobek’s most dangerous characteristic is its powerful bite, which resembles the common crocodile (the strongest bite in modern recorded history).  It can easily tear through a sturdy wooden desk.  This danger remains in either solo or suit form.

To Unite-As mentioned, the solo form can convert to a suit form.  It is unknown whether it is easy to change back, or whether the Stand must be re-summoned.

Dark Waters-A favored tactic by Gabriel and Coil is to hide Apophis within Sobek’s jaws.
