i think it is just our ac acting up but this is totally paranoia inducing
also...huh I never chose music for this floor
(i might go back and add a chapter summary once I"m done with all of them but right now no vergil I have no motivation)

Main Points:
Persona 4 Sea of the Unconscious
Summary: Yosuke was not part of the original investigation team. In fact, he wasn't even part of their world. He was a huge fanboy. And then he fell into Inaba, and his life changed forever...
Really old, so not perfectly written, and it was during my FONTS EXIST phase. Slightly inspired by Chisotahn's Ten Steps fic. The entire concept is a little chuuni/Gary Stu. I don't think it would be bad with some tweaking, but that's tweaking i don't really want to do, so we've got this instead.
this Shadow is one of my favorites in this fic
Word Count: 456
Rating: teen

The staircase was a circular one this time, metal and seemingly rickety.  The child Yosuke marched on with absolutely no worry about safety.  Oddly, the intercom hadn't come on in a while.  Souji hoped that didn't mean that the Junes Yosuke was planning something particularly nasty for them at the top and currently in the process of setting it up.
Row upon row of checkout counters, each covered in gaudy glitter and golden stars, threatened to blind them all.
A bored Yosuke was standing at one of the counters, working checkout.  This almost appeared normal.  Other than the fact that Yosuke was without his signature headphones and was actually in a suit and tie.  And was wearing glasses-orange ones that made him look more of an intellectual than any of them would have ever guessed.  He didn't look bad really, but he didn't look himself.  He also looked like he would be more at home in management than retail.  Child Yosuke's hand tightened in Souji's own.
This Yosuke was leaning down on the checkout counter, head resting on one hand, the other doodling absently as a Yosuke bored out of his mind was wont to do.  Souji could imagine him doing it during school and probably getting in trouble for it.
Yosuke glanced up, and the flash of yellow eyes told them that this was yet another Shadow Yosuke.  How many of them could there be?
"Hey, dudes.  Would you mind helping out here?  Everyone's just taken off and left me to do all the work.  As usual."  He sounded like he was laughing it off, but Souji knew better than to take anything the Shadows said or did for granted.
"How long until the end of your shift?" Souji asked casually, coming a little closer despite the warning tugging on his arm that was soon turning into violent yanking.
The eyes looked somewhat confused behind the glasses.  As if he'd never bothered to ask the question.  As if the answer didn't matter.
"There isn't one," the helpful announcement came.  This Yosuke glared at the ceiling.
"You know what, I've about had it for these monster crazy shifts.  And with announcements and people telling me what to do.  What do you say I just take off and hang out with you guys?"
An awkward silence followed.  The rest of the team wasn't okay with this.  Souji figured he knew the correct answer.  "Normally, I'd say it's morally wrong, but in this case the management seems a little..."
A genuine smile came over this one's face, and he pulled off his tie.  A move to being casual, or something along those lines.  "You got that right," he answered, winking.  "Come on, let's go do something about that."
