Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Game Review/Commentary 81

Trying to get this man’s lead foot under control, I swear.  Okay.  {roommate}  I think they may mean lead foot (as in one in front), but considering what’s been happening, I think lead (as in the element) foot might be more appropriate.  Yep.  {roommate}

I’m honestly willing to bet I might be able to do this.  {roommate}  This starting part?  At all.  At the very least I have the feeling I’m going to need to try to get the timing down on the jumps earlier, because they say…  {roommate}  Do you want me to get to the first walljump point?  Lemme try to at least get some of this stuff done beforehand.  {roommate}  *jingle jingle* 

Okay.  So that’s how fast you need to do it for the other.  So if they’re correct in saying it’s just the timing and not the other…   {roommate} I didn’t try the slow push/not full push, but I don’t know that they’d have that in the PC version anyway. 

*scream*  Wait, that’s not right. [Prince]  It was…I don’t know what you’re complaining about.  {roommate} 

I signed into the computer and now have the navy/blank screen.  It’ll come.  I’m pretty sure.  {roommate}  Rrr.  *jingle jingle*  Oh.  Finally something that says “personalized settings”. 

…I only have Chrome.  This is good.  Yeah.  Well, you didn’t expect good programs to be installed, right?  {roommate}

It’s a shame you don’t have a practice thing for this.  {roommate}  If you wanted I could go back to the original first time I did the walljump thing, but.  How do you go up?  {roommate}  Jump.  Uh, X.  I see.  That helps quite a bit.  {roommate}  Yes.  ‘kay.  So.  I don’t see the percent—oh, there it is.

Where…are my saves stored?  Under Steam?  Most likely under Steam.  {roommate} …Where is Steam?  This PC.  C://.  Program Files.  {roommate} x86 or just the normal?  I think x86.  Steam.  {roommate} Stem.  I think Steam Apps, probably.  Common.  {roommate} Yeah.  Profiles.  That’s the one.  {roommate}

So you’re going to copy out everything on that.  {roommate} *jingle jingle* Hopefully there’s enough room on this one.  If not…I’ll get a different one.  Okay.  {roommate} *jingle* 

The name was.  {roommate}  What name?  An idea has come.  {roommate} Ah.  Yeah.  I know it’s cheating, but we know what we have to do.  {roommate} It just doesn’t want to do it.  I was thinking if all else fails, I might just have to wait until I own it on console, which sucks, but. 

I have a Save 0.  Why do I have a save 0?  I don’t know.  {roommate} That just seems weird.  …Haha.  *jingle* 

I also have not tried playing this on a different computer and I don’t know if that would make a difference, but. 

Go ahead and open up Save 43, if you would.  {roommate} I am on save 43.  I mean on the profile.  {roommate} Ah. Okay.  Shoot, I just closed that folder.  You’re probably going to have to close out your game as well.  {roommate} Okay.  You make a separate save, 44, and we’ll try from that one.  {roommate} Okay.  Save again, I guess.  Can I…Okay, yeah.  Done, I’ll start the story from here next time. [Prince] All right, go ahead and open it up.  {roommate}

Oh, right, I didn’t close the game.  I probably have to close the game.  It’s probably going to lose it’s mind if I don’t.  Right.  Yeah, no, it’s a good idea.  {roommate} Quit to main menu.  Do you wish me to leave before finishing my story? [Prince] Yes, because we’re trying to get you to actually finish your story.  As you wish. [Prince] Properly. 

Yeah.  ‘Cause the way I see it— {roommate} It doesn’t help if you know what to do if you can’t get past it because a glitch. 

So it’s this PC, C://, Program Files, Steam…  Steam apps.  {roommate} Steam apps, Common, Sands of Time…  Profiles.  {roommate} Right, Profiles. 

All right, open up Save 44.  We’re going to open it up using Notepad.  {roommate} Um, okay.  With Notepad.  {roommate} No.  Okay. 

So now we figure out what the encoding is.  Okay.  {roommate} Does it say exactly what to do in there?  No.  I’m not finding anything particularly.  {roommate} Okay.  Okay.  So there’s the percentage marker, so if we go up here…  Actually, let me look it up over here.  {roommate}

*jingle*  ‘Cause if I can get it something else…All right.  So that’s the first one.  Second one…   {roommate} *mumbles in background*  Okay.  We’re going to close it out without making any edits.  {roommate} Okay.  Until we can figure out what we’re doing a bit better.  {roommate} Okay. 

…Are you cool with skipping over to the next section?  {roommate} …Yeah.  I mean, it’d be cool to do the fight but I know what happens basically, so it’s not.  Well, I don’t think we’d be skipping over the fight; I think we’d just be doing, uh…  {roommate} Well, I think the next save point is on a different—it’s past the fight.  But not the fight with the main guy ‘cause that’s what I’m most interested in. 

Okay.  Just a minute.  All right.  We are going to try this.  First things first.  All right.  Copy it over to Documents.  We’re going to name it Save 44.  All right.  Copy.  Steam, Steam Apps, Common, Profiles, Jojo.  All right.  Okay.  Now we’re going to try it.  {roommate} *jingle*

My recommendation would be to immediately overwrite the save file.  {roommate} Save over the path to the spot?  Just to make sure there’s…  {roommate} Right.  You have to hit select.  Okay.  Save game.  {roommate}

It’s not reading it.  (What is that noise??)  Hang on.  All right.  Okay.  There we go.  {roommate} Oh, oh hey. 

Okay, we’re going to load this and then save over it immediately in case there’s a virus or something.  {roommate} Did you download it?  Yeah.  {roommate} …Oh.  I downloaded the save file.  So it’s one of those things where I’m pretty sure it’s safe, but just in case I want to, uh—  {roommate}  Done.  I’ll start the story from here next time. [Prince]

Yep.  And then if you don’t mind...Yeah, it’s that one.  {roommate} Delete it?  Actually, you know what we could do.  We probably should’ve done that before… *EXTREMELY LOUD VIRUS SCAN RESULTS* I don’t think there’s anything in particular with that…   {roommate} *starts cackling*  That was way too loud.  I think it’s fine.  {roommate}

But there’s one thing.  Really, two things.  It might come out weird because it’s Save 45, but you can probably edit that when you’re done with it.  {roommate}  Eh, I think it’ll be fine.  Okay, go for it.  {roommate} (For the record, that section we were stuck on?  We were stuck on redoing this one section for a single walljump down for 3 hours, 56 minutes, and 20 seconds, according to the recording.  Yikes.)
