I’m not going over them because apparently I don’t even have my swords out.  That would do it. 

So that would be two.  Three.  (I feel like I’m Gimli.  Or Legolas.  But Legolas is weird, mostly based on the Hobbit movie addition, so I’m not sure I’d want to be Legolas.)  That would be two—no, three.  Three.  I can’t math.  Thirty-two.  Thirty-one.  Thirty.  Twenty-nine.  Oh, shoot, Farah.  Twenty-eight.  Twenty-seven.  Twenty-six.  Twenty-five.  Twenty-four.  Twenty-three.  Twenty-two.  Twenty-one.  (Twenty looks weird now.)  Nineteen.  Er, twenty.  Sorry, I can’t math.  (That actually would be called *counting*, but….ehhh.)  Nineteen.  Eighteen.  Seventeen. 

Thank you.  Thank you for waiting on me.  (I love the polite enemy thing; it’s a lot of characterization for a mute nameless random Sand creature enemy.)  We’re somewhere around nineteen?  (I had a feeling I lost count, but I kept going anyway because even having a vague idea of where I was fighting-wise is better than nothing.)   Yeah, that guy just stood there and let me finish drinking.  You, sir.  Where are we going? [Farah] (My guess is up, given that this is an elevator going up.  And where I saw the evil herons taking the hourglass was a tower, so…yeah, up is a good guess.)  I don’t know, but Prince—Princess.  Where is she?  We’re on—okay, we’re just going to go with nineteen?  Okay, yeah, that was a bit greedy. 

Eighteen.  Seventeen.  Sixteen.  Fifteen.  Fourteen.  Thirteen. 

Wrong guy!  Right behind you.  Yeah, use all of that. 

Thirteen—oh.  I mean, I guess I wasn’t counting the ones she was beating up because they were behind me and I couldn’t see.  Either that or I’m just really bad at math.  (Well, you did lose track.  But.  She beat up at least 10 on her own apparently.  Which isn’t bad given that she was largely shooting people right on top of her with a bow.)  Either that or they’re just going to drop all thirteen at once.  One of the two.  (Well, that one is bad math, because you presented three options, so that would be a third chance unless any of those options are weighted.  Or not mutually exclusive, since I’m pretty sure it’s a little of column a and a little of column b.) 

Oh, that’s really pretty.  So we can sit here and admire the scenery for once.  I really like how the sun comes in the windows. 

(elevator stops moving)  Oh yeah, it has stopped.  Hmm. 

Try that lever. [Farah] …What lever?  Princess?  Farah, what are you talking about?  Oh, that lever.  (Oh, the big blue wet thing!)  Oh, that lever.  Thank you. 

Come on, hurry. [Farah] Yeah, it could go anywhere at any moment, so.  (gotta get going before it leaves without me)  I guess we’re… 

The hourglass is nearby.  I can feel it. [Prince] Feel it?  How? [Farah] That’s… I can’t explain it. [Prince] …not normal.  It’s because I’ve gotten so much…whatchacallit, Sand in me.  (Really, they are hinting so much for Dark Prince…probably…and it’s interesting.  Question: undoing everything and making them not zombie Sand creatures—does that work on the Prince?  Or is it the price for interacting with it so much and using the Dagger fifty million times?  …We’ll find out in the next game, probably, but I’m just wondering.)

Oh.  Hahahah.  That’s.  Woah.  Woah, that’s….Camera.  Camera, what are you showing me?  The Camera’s just phasing through the walls and losing its mind, okay. 

Ohhh, you have walking on the coins sound for walking on the coins.  That makes me happy. 

It’s not even just the same one over and over.  There’s a larger sound for stepping on the bigger stuff.  That’s so cool.  I’m such a dork.  But that’s cool, though.  (sound design in games is important and often overlooked)

So, Farah’s just going to steal my dagger again like every other time.  (Farah, that’s super getting old.  Makes sense and I totally understand why, but also.  Old.) 

Do I actually want to do more, though?  I could.  But I’m actually feeling much…more…it’s this weird thing where I feel restless when I haven’t played a game in long enough?  And I’m not feeling restless anymore, so I’m wondering if it’s maybe a better idea if I quit now and get some stuff now. 

I think I might do that and play more tomorrow after I get back from volunteering.  No, people would still be up after that, so maybe after they’re asleep.  (hahahahaha but apparently also yes?  Because I do play tomorrow according to the datestamp??)  But for now I think that might be a good place to stop. 

Do you want me to leave before finishing my story? [Prince]  Yeah.  …As you wish. [Prince]  We got another two percent done which is nice.  I appreciate that. 

What do you mean, ‘the game ended unexpectedly’?  I mean, if you erase my progress I’m not going to be happy, but I said ‘quit game’ so I assume that was normal. 

Oh yeah, controller companion.  Come here, controller companion.  Exit.  Logout.

(I actually found this battle super interesting, though it would’ve been a lot more worrying if I hadn’t looked up how it worked.  I’m not an old-school gamer, at least, not when it comes to video games [computer games, on the other hand, I’ve played since I was 4] so I’m not used to trying a boss battle or minion rush for hours upon end to get through and learn the mechanics.  I’ve gotten nearly down Cerby’s patterns, though not my own movement/moveset in Devil May Cry 3, but still.  I’m used to games like Civilization, adventure games, and MMORPGs.  I would’ve still kept thinking it’s infinite and maybe gotten really discouraged.  I really liked how this fight forced you to make use of your environment, because I keep forgetting about the ‘use the environment to jump around and fight’ mechanic, plus I liked the environment.  In City of Heroes I always wanted to fight on a monorail, and fighting in a cool-looking elevator is…well, it’s not the same thing, but it’s also cool.)
