Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Game Review/Commentary 60

Hello, old friend.  It’s been a while.  I probably should not be doing this, but you know.  Someone’s actually on vacation. 

I still have a few chapter problems to do, but.  Yeah.  What can I say; I don’t want to do them right now.  I need a break too. 

If it’s actually going to work.  That’d be super nice.  Or Steam.  One of the two. 

I think I’ve got to check on World of Horror and see how it’s doing.  (Lovecraft meets Junji Ito.  It’s neat but they seem to have a hard time deciding how they want the mechanics to work and keep changing that around.)  If it’s out on Steam yet.  Before I actually start. 

I’m tired.  I skipped out on sleep.  Well, didn’t go to bed early.  Definitely not going to be as gung ho.  (I’m also super having troubles with enunciation, so transcribing is hard.)  Energetic.  That’s the word I’m looking for.  But, y’know, that’s okay. 

*loud Steam noises* Yeah, yeah.

It says ‘coming soon’.  You have any other information in there?  (It’s been about 8 months and still nothing.)  Nope, okay then.  (The dev has a twitter or something so there’s probably more on there but I don’t ever check twitter considering I don’t have it, so…) 

Yeah, I don’t want to sign in to you too, Chrome, especially on this computer.  I just don’t want you to keep track of me.  That’s just weird and creepy.

I’m just going to go with actually launch and watch…why are you stopping me from download of Endless Legend?  Is it because I’m playing something now or what? 

I forgot I had RE4.

Let’s go down to 50.  (In sound settings.)  50 seems good.  Might not be able to hear the Prince, but.  *can’t hear myself over the sound of the game*  I’m really quiet tonight, so. 

Okay, 12:35.  So I have somewhere between an hour and a hour and a half. 

Oh yeah.  Where are we supposed to go from here?  Through this, right? 

Well, I’m not supposed to go down there, because that’s where I came from. 

Um.  Hmm.  What about…oh, I probably have to get up there, but how?  Let’s try running up the wall and seeing what’s up there.  That doesn’t do anything, Prince, you’re useless. 

Okay, um.  Maybe getting up there?  (As a stepping stone to further up.)  Up on wall. 

The camera’s losing its mind and Prince is just stuck in freefall forever.  That’s good.  

What happens when I drop here?  Not that…*Prince slashes sword* Not that, Prince.  Are you telling me you can’t drop here?  What about you—no. 

Are you still seriously telling me you can’t drop here?  But there’s a thing there! 

Okay, can you go—Prince—fine.  Sheesh.  (Yare yare daze.) 

What.  What.  What are those things poking out of the wall?  Do they help me in any way? 

Can I drop on—that’s up. 

Oh.  (Prince falls to his death)  Well, I found the drop button.  That he was ignoring before. 

I’m going to guess that dropping here is also going to kill me.  Yep.  Well, it was worth a shot. 

Are you sure we can’t go—fine. 

So how do I get down there?  Because obviously I need to. 

Does it have anything to do with the statues over there?

At least the landscape is still pretty. 

Can I do anything with this crack?  Nope. 

What about—?  Nope. 

(snorts)  Well, I managed to hop backwards onto one foot and float on this pillar, but that is not entirely what I was intending to do. 

It is kind of nice to just jump around on things. 

I can’t do anything with this because it’s—hi, is there anything you can do, Princess?  Are you saying you’re useless? 

Oh wait, this is breakable.  Apparently it looks slightly breakable, and I remembered that I had the Super Awesome Breaky Sword. 

Princess.  Princess.  Princess Farah, is there anything you can do for me, is there any way you can help me?  No?  Rude. 

So you have to get that.  Hmm.  Can I actually grab—no.  I mean, it’d be neat if you could grab that but I guess it’s not a thing. 

I’ll look it up.  I like getting things done.  And I’m completely lost.  And my brain kind of isn’t working right now, but. 

I ran over that way.  Then I took the shortcut. 

Ohhhhhh.  I’m such a dumb.  Apparently I just do that—ohhhhh.  I completely forgot about that thing.  (Sounds like a lever.) 

Doesn’t matter, it didn’t hurt too much.  There’s water over there I’ll go take.  Later, not now. 

Prince, really?  He’s just like “I’m just going to hop off”. 

Ahhh.  Shoot.  Okay.  Timing, yay.  I’m going to be so good at that because I’m so tired.  (Sarcasm.) 

But you know what I missed?  Water. 

Wrong way.  Prince.  Prince.  We’re so going to fail this.  Toldja.  Just because you were being a dumb and were like “I just want to slap that wall because I know you hate it.”

Thank you.  I didn’t take any damage that time. 

Why do you keep wanting to do that?  I have no idea what I did there.  (Sound just cut out for a second.  Which, timestop, but.) 

Prince.  You are so going to make me use up—go back to save, aren’t you?  Hello, box. 

(Farah gasps) It’s fine.  I need more sand, but.  Other than that, it’s fine.  I have a feeling we’re going to fight guys soon, so.  (It’s more dangerous, but I can replenish.) 

Okay, so, where do I need this box? 

‘Course, this won’t help me if I don’t reach another save point and have to start over again next time, but you know.  Whatever. 

I’m trying to reach—the problem is I don’t know where I’m trying to reach.  Let’s try this corner for now.  Maybe that’s not a thing I can grasp onto. 

*chuckles*  Look at me, Farah, aren’t I great? 

Okay, I can’t use that to climb up the statue. 

I mean…No, I can’t drag you up the stairs, can I?  I mean, I could maybe drag a box up the stairs, but I don’t think I can push a box up the stairs.  So. 

Apparently there’s an invisible wall here.  Farah, there’s an invisible wall. 

Box.  I just shoved her with a box and she just stared at me.  Yes, thanks.  I know I am insane, in fact.
