        Jotaro barks with laughter.  Kakyoin starts a little, but he’s beginning to see—what Holly sees, what the rest of the world doesn’t, that it’s not that Jotaro means to intimidate (most of the time), it’s just that he’s incredibly awkward and doesn’t get how social interactions are supposed to work and doesn’t get how people don’t actually read him.  And that, yes, he’s proud, and often rude to cover up for embarrassment—and so it’s surprise, not fear, in his reaction.  And he feels really privileged, that Jotaro would let down his guard for this, that he’s probably one of few people in the world to see this.
        “You didn’t,” the deep voice says, and it’s clear amusement in the tone.
        “I’m afraid I did,” Kakyoin states quietly and then elaborates.
