So yeah, important lesson, kids of all ages: BACK UP YOUR PHONE and also everything else. Because hardware fails.
Second lesson: crossovers cannot be stopped and you shouldn't even try. (I'm terrible at this. I'm like 'oh yeah, wouldn't that be a brilliant plotbunny to send out to the world' and every time, every single time, it whispers in my ear and says 'wouldn't you rather write this instead' and i'm like 'what, me, I'm no expert, I barely just got into the fandom' and it's like 'you can't help yourself. also there's a ship.' and I'm like 'curse you, you're right'. So here's me losing my mind again.)
Third lesson: Okay, Prince of Persia may not be the best movie and I have no idea whether it's true to the game, but it's the kind of goofy fun that. It's not the first Mummy movie, but it might be Mummy Returns level. And if the Assassin's Creed movie is any indication it does a giant amount better on exposition. Like, miles and miles better. Also I want to play the game. Which I own, but. Having the time to play it is a different matter.

Main Points:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Assassin's Creed/possibly Mummy??
Summary: It's probably Xander speaking, but that's not quite made clear so read it as you will. ;)

They were not alone. They carved out a bloody niche on Earth, able to fight against the oldest demons who shared the same land due to the slaves they had created. Humanity. By force of sheer numbers, their slaves gave them an advantage. But eventually, all slaves grow weary of their chains, and they would have cost their masters not only their own lives but also the lives of their masters, the Isu.
But some of the humans were clever. Together with their Lord and Lady (the names do not matter, for they have never remained the same throughout the ages), they had learned the secrets of the Isu’s power and technology, and seen the dangers of humans with he will to run amok as they pleased. They formed a council, promised to make certain that humankind would be guided with wisdom they clearly lacked. They trapped a woman and a demon, one of the ancients, and used Isu technology to bind the souls of the two for eternity. She was their champion, their guard dog. They knew better than to repeat the Isu’s mistake, for creating an army that could turn on them had already started one revolution. Half-mad with the change, they point her at a target, then another, then another, all the while using their knowledge of magic and portals to send them to places elsewhere. They control her mind, her thoughts, her life. Hers is a noble mission, keeping the demons at bay, keeping humanity secure. And, of course, it’s a dangerous calling. So many die early, such a tragedy, but it keeps them from questioning.
They are not the only ones who learned to use magic. Humans were made in the shape of the Isu. Clever, adaptable. There were some who knew what the council had planned. Slavery once more, only with a new name, a new face. They resolved to never let this happen. They, too, were known of several names, at times eliminating all witnesses, keeping their shadow-war in the shadows, at times holding by a more merciful creed. Rather than sitting in their high towers, plotting the lives of their slaves, sending the bloodthirsty crusader and their private hound of war on missions as they pleased, each was trained to go on missions themselves.
I say the names do not matter, but to some they do. History names them thusly. The Council was the Shadow Men, Watcher’s Council, the Templars. Their dark mirror, their counterpart, Medjai, Scholars, Assassins.
And I am one of them.

The story goes something like this: a very, very long time ago, before time had been conceived as a notion, were the Ones Who Came Before.
