Kryvi is pronounced with the y and i like the 'i' in inn. (oddly enough, the longer version is pronounced differently... *shrug*)
Xander as a Dante-like figure works, in my head, because Xander with powers is exactly like Xander without powers, personality-wise: he's a complete dork, flaws and all. Dante is a cool guy whose coolness half comes from the fact that he's a dork and he owns that like he doesn't care people realize he's a dork. Also the fact that he can fight the way he does; that's also pretty cool. But still...my favorite scene with him is probably where he's being a total troll to Agnus with the whole play/opera motif. It's awesome.
...There's not too much dorkiness in this one, though that might just be because of space restrictions. It's going to get a bit dark at first, but trust me, the goof is coming.

A distraction, huh. Xander-or rather, Blade-could be that. And an entire warehouse full of enemies to beat up? A grin grew, complete with a smirking canine. "You're just too generous sometimes, Buff." Quietly, he slid the long, crimson blade from its place on his back, awakening its occupant with a slight caress. "Kryvi, we've been handed a nice heaping portion of slaughter, all to ourselves."
He felt the spirit of the blade stir, and an answering gentle if teasing touch of his mind that made his breath catch. Together, luv, we'll wreck havoc, the spirit promised with an equal grin.
