Arrow AU
Summary: Tommy's instincts work just fine for an island, but for a city where he has to play normal, he's a little lost.
Word Count: 580
Rating: Gen

He’s lost all traces of Tommy by the time he hits the club.  Oh, he’s wearing the disguise, but that’s all it is.  If he’s honest, that’s mostly what Tommy is these days, but there’s pieces he was able to cling onto.  When it comes time for action, though, well, he can wear the skin but he’s all action underneath.
There’s a cheer that goes up as he walks up to the bouncer, smiles the camera smile.  Unless something triggers immediate action, he’s probably going to have to table the extracurriculars for a bit, just to wait until he’s not as recognizable.  He knows how to fade into a crowd, how to hide in plain sight, but there’s only so much he can do.  If he’s not the biggest news, people are less likely to give him a second look when he doesn’t want them to do so.
And there’s Sara Lance.  He swallows and attempts to keep the smile.  It fades a little at the weak punch in the face.  Honestly, if she’d been any better at that, he probably wouldn’t have been able to hold back, which is bad.  Really bad.  He’s going to have to work, hard, on leashing his instincts, having better control, because this little party isn’t going to go well.
“Dad was right about both of you,” she spits, and storms off into the crowd.
          “That went well,” he mutters.
And that’s when the bouncers find him, and he can’t fight them either.  “Fantastic.  This is just wonderful.”
“What, you’re not happy to see an old buddy?” Fuller asks, arms spread wide, and Tommy almost rolls his eyes.  He still rolls his eyes internally.  That’s textbook Dad, acting friendly when all he wants to do is hurt
Maybe it’s a good thing he’s not around.  I’m not sure I could hold back if he went for me again.
Tommy smiles, lopsided.  “Maybe my people skills are a little bit rusty due to, y’know, being stuck on an island with no people, but I’m getting the feeling you’re not happy to see me.
At a nod, one of the bouncers full-out hits him, and oh man that’s a lot harder to not respond to.  Particularly when it’s enough force to twist him around and have him fall.  It’d be easy enough to sweep him off his legs, but he has to just let them do what they want.
“Good guess,” Fuller mutters, and chuckles.  “But you know, someone else isn’t, either.  Who needs enemies when you could have friends?”  He nods to a mostly unconscious…that’s Ollie.  And it looks like they’d been beating on him for a while.  His eyes are open, but he’s not processing anything.  It’s the exact situation he’d expected, but that doesn’t mean it’s any easier to deal with.
On one hand, that means Ollie won’t see anything, should he choose to act, but…this was so much easier when I could just kill people.  He’s not about to let them kill him, or Ollie, but he can’t just go and kill them without anyone noticing, and, well.  They’re not exactly saints, or innocent, but they’re not the enemy, either.  Then again, if he doesn’t kill them and just fights, they’ll know something was wrong, too…
His inner monologue is interrupted.  A prick in the skin, paired with rapid loss of brainpower and muscle weakness.  Drugged.  Danger.  Deal with it.  He tries to push himself up, but it all fades to black.
