Xander Drabble

madimpossibledreamerLess than 100 words. This author's note + main points listing is probably going to be longer than the thing itself. Which is why the cut for the author's note itself.
It says 'Universe Optional'. That, at least hinted, means that this could take place in any universe Xander's bisexual or at least has multiple gender leanings. Not sure if that includes main!verse or not. Any good English major could take the text of the show and argue it five different ways.
It could be referring to Buffy. It could be referring to Spike. Or Fitz. (My OTPs, they are many. Which probably makes 'OTP' a misnomer.)
This might be a little spoilery for where I'm going with it...but I'm doing my absolute best to write Shadowed Suspicion like it is just another Part in the Jojo's universe. Part of its beauty is that you could take things many different ways, have people as just friends or ship them. All because the actual text does not say. So the main story, the one I'm posting on AO3 right now, that's going to remain gen. The original plan was to have Xander/Fitz as an actual pairing, but that kind of stymied the plot, made it just another relationship fic. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but my ambitions were grander. I wanted to write a long!fic, but not just to make it long. I wanted to tell a sweeping, epic story.
Still working on that one, with success...well, everyone will have their own definition, and judge differently. I think it's going well.
I might end up with a few drabbles or Side Stories (also SS, interesting) with different AUs, different pairings. Like Lucky Strike.
So, a list of the ships I like with the Xander Jojo so far:
None. He's actually one of the few characters so far that both he and I are completely fine with him not ending up with a lucky guy or girl.
Some girl I know is awesome but don't actually know much about. Other than she's awesome. She might show up at the end, but it'll be open-ended.
Fitz. Who is awesome and I love his Stand Lotus Juice, but can be kind of hard to pin down and write.
And obviously, a Dean from an AU in which he develops a Stand, Wayward Son, at a young age and hangs around Sunnydale instead of with his father and brother, fighting the good fight. Hence Lucky Strike.

Xander likes the show Merlin.
He’s never bothered to think about it, but a large part of his preference might be because he has a thing for blondes with big hearts and the ability to banter. And who, well, are gorgeous, and impossibly brave and loyal and self-sacrificing.
Okay, maybe he’s considered this, more than he’d like.
