Injuries is the outer ring, deaths is the inner ring. The second one shows what happens when you ignore the spaceship destruction and concentrate on just on-screen deaths. It’s definitely more dangerous to be a red shirt this season—they get killed more often than anyone else other than people on the places they visit, unless you count the several spaceships that get utterly destroyed this season. Injuries are pretty much the same across the board, although if you're a nameless or seen-for-two-minutes crewman, it's better not to be a red shirt, since the other two categories are mostly due to main characters getting hurt. Gold Shirt injuries are mostly due to Kirk. Blue shirt injuries are largely due to Spock getting smacked around and thrown across rooms this season. It's also more dangerous to be on a ship not named Enterprise, since several of those blow up or are otherwise destroyed.
Flirting/Romance

Kirk definitely gets more ‘action’ this season as well just looking at the numbers, though most of it is still kisses/flirting to distract/get information/make an escape. Oh, and a date rape drug (basically). I skipped Uhura because she was also flirting to escape and/or being attacked and I don’t feel like that’s worth putting on a chart. Wait, is it sexist to include Kirk being mind controlled/whatever at least in the first chart when it’s the same exact sort of situation---uhhh. Uhm. I almost want to cut that out because it’s a little messed up but on the other hand it’s probably a good realization to have so it’s just here, I guess. Because we need these conversations.
After him, it's far and away Bones, followed by Chekov and Scotty. Of note is that Chekov is the recipient of a lot of When You're Off Duty, Ensign speeches (from Kirk). (Well, and Other, but as that's not one person but a bunch of people lumped together and no not in that way you weirdoes I'm not sure if it counts or not. ...Okay, yes, sleep deprivation is a thing.)
