Xander looks up, unconcerned, only slightly distracted from his discussion on the relative merits of Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Doctor Who with a surprisingly opinionated Illyria.  Giles had really taken his time, after all.
“I don’t know if…this is probably going to be long…” Willow’s wringing her hands.
Knight tosses his wallet at her.  “Use mine.”
She opens it and frowns at what’s inside.  “What—”
“Special credit card.  I designed it the other day; interdimensional.  All the cool kids are getting one.  We can order in.”  He glances at Giles.  “On that note, I’m thinking we need a secret clubhouse.  Maybe an entire dimension.  It’s not like we can’t manage it.”
Giles looks sheepish.  And slightly surprised by his reaction.  “Yes, well.”  His hand moves in an aborted move toward his glasses, but he doesn’t actually clean them.  “Perhaps you will appreciate what I am going to tell you, then.”
Knight completely drops the former conversation looking absolutely delighted.  “You did it.  You got us a dimension, just for us.  Really, you shouldn’t have.”
Willow rolls his eyes as he continues.
“You were reading about ‘What to Get a Billionaire Who Has Everything’, weren’t you?”
“Had,” Angel corrects in a mild tone.  Xander can’t and doesn’t argue that.
“So, a Slayer.  You mentioned a ‘rescue’ and I don’t see why that is necessary,” Illyria states.  She might be a little annoyed by the interruption.
“Most people don’t have the ability to travel between universes,” Oz points out quietly.
“She’s in a world where there are no powers,” Giles says louder, slightly annoyed.  And here Tony thought he didn’t play nicely with others.
Xander’s brain has been going at a hundred miles per hour, and that’s even before the addition of the extra computational power he can borrow from various electronics.  He’s got training looking for variables, and finds himself even more fascinated by other dimensions even without the incentive of discussing things with other Starks.
Speaking of which, he really should let them know about his forwarding address, because if they’ve remembered to try to call and haven’t been too busy with superheroics or projects they’re probably panicking.
He’s also got an eidetic memory, which sometimes sucks (Re: Faith, for one), but he remembers a remark Buffy made once, and…
“We getta break into an insane asylum?  How very A-Team of us.”  He grins at Giles' shocked expression.  It’s fun when he can be ahead of the game.
Willow blinks.  “I’m a little lost.”
Illyria’s frowning.  “I don’t see how a woman without powers is helpful in our vengeance.”
Giles glares at Xander, who gives his very best innocent expression.
“As I said, it’s a dimension without any powers.  Except for Buffy.  She’s a nexus—what you might think of as a keystone for a group of dimensions—and as such is important.  She experiences memories from other dimensions, and gains their powers, but her grasp on the here and now is less…stable.”
Willow makes a distressed noise.  So she knows Buffy in her dimension.
“If you’re looking for an extraction, I’m good at those,” Angel suggests.
Giles shakes his head.  “We have to, as far as we can, avoid using our powers in the process.  They have no powers or protections, so it is not a suitable dimension to contain Miss Summers in once we have her safely removed.”
Xander smirks.  “If you need a Face, you’ve got a Face.  The body might not be quite as handsome as Stark’s, but I’ve got all the memories and charisma.  I can distract.  I also,” he pulls out the earbuds he’s been working on, “…got you all these bad boys.  They look like headphones, so you’re set on blending, but they’re actually high-tech comms.  I designed a better version for myself, though—” better than saying he doesn’t need one to tap into team communications, “…but I didn’t have enough materials for the rest of you.  That’s something to be fixed, Constantine.”  He glances at Giles, just so that the Not!Watcher gets who he’s talking to, and there’s definite confusion, but he doesn’t argue.  “Also, body armor.  Not quite nano, so it’s a little heavier, but it’s worth wearing in case of hostiles with guns.  You’re all less pretty and functional when you’re perforated.”
At the shocked expressions, he shrugs.  “I don’t deal well with boredom.”  Understatement, really.
“I’ve had experience at mental hospitals,” Willow volunteers, unhappy but determined, and Xander mentally adds ‘save Tara’ to his To Do List.
“I was planning on speaking with the doctors and therefore distracting them,” Giles admits.
“We’ll run the very important job of the getaway vehicle,” Oz promises with a small grin, glancing at Illyria, who reluctantly nods.
Giles nods.  “We have our plan.”
