The Weight of Destiny
Jul. 17th, 2025 02:09 pmAmi’s full speech from the game: “I rebelled against pretty much everything in my teens. I abandoned my roots, got married, moved to town. I don’t know what I was trying to prove, but I suppose I just wanted to get out from underneath all the history and tradition that I felt was weighing me down. The only thing I proved was that you can run away from everything around you, but you can’t run away from who you are. It’s just a matter of time until it catches up with you. This “you have a destiny” business can be a heavy load to carry. You probably know that as well as anyone. All the expectations. It’s not an easy thing to live up to. You end up disappointing everyone, yourself included. It’s not like any of us ever asked for it, yet we get defined by how we live with it, what we do with it. Sometimes it seems unfair that you can’t just be, I don’t know, normal. I tried normal. It didn’t really work out for me.” (also, separately on a mission: "I spent a long time running from my family, my past, my powers. I'm done running.")
Technically, there is no upstairs to Red’s Bait and Tackle. However, given that they would all have to sleep on couches, roll out mattresses, or sleeping beds, cook their food in the fireplace or on portable stoves (and yes they have a fridge so unlike Kyra’s exaggeration it’s not all just canned), have nowhere visible to store said canned goods (unless they put them in the fridge for some ??? reason), and you can see the entirety of the store when you walk around it, and there’s the added drama of stomping up stairs with a slightly different floor plan, I have added an extension to the store. You’re welcome, Red.
Kyra was also a little calmer in-game, but her composure did break a little, so I figured one more thing might be all she needed.
That’s about 91ish kilograms for readers who don’t use Imperial.
^everything at Red's was another chapter that was supposed to be one chapter, and shorter, only multiple people decided to have their own respective feelings about things and I figured that was a pretty good cause for expansion. We are getting to the end of the 'Savage Coast'.
