Duolingo accidentally made a case for why translation is hard and just translating word for word doesn’t cut it in many instances, lol. So the phrase they were teaching in French translated to “Where are you taking this bus?” Which probably seems entirely innocuous to French people, but immediately to me and several of the other people I asked conjured up images of a busjacking. (That might just be an American thing, though.) We had trouble figuring out what the actual translation would probably be, and decided it was probably something more along the lines of “What’s your stop?” A bit more informal (and definitely not always an innocuous question at all times, like, the MC in Bloodwash probably shouldn’t answer that question if she could help it), but.
