If people are uncomfortable reading M/M and they make up excuses (like “absolutely every writer who writes fanfic about this is fetishizing; I know because I doxxed every single last writer who may not even be out in their personal life”)...that’s homophobia. Maybe well-meaning homophobia, but it barely matters if somebody slams a door into your face in their hurry to get outside. If they didn’t see you, that’s great, it’s good they weren’t targeting you specifically, but you’re still the one standing there with your face bleeding and possibly a concussion.
