Val's Design
May. 2nd, 2023 09:08 pm(As a reminder, all of this is how Xander designed his character to look in-game.) Val’s general color scheme is white and teal. His horns kind of look like opaque dark glass (if you’re looking closely enough you can tell it’s actually a really dark teal so dark as to almost seem black), short, fairly straight, but spiky, on the top of the head slightly forward of his ears, which are pointed and pierced. His claws are definitely painted. Technically you can get a bonus for ten rings, but he doesn’t wear all of those. He had said he’d do it for the stats and kind of made fun of Buffy for accessorizing (collecting outfits) at first, but soon became more obsessed with it than her and has yet to find a look with more than six that he’s happy with. Buffy finally made him equip all ten and cosmetically de-equip them; it’s a sensible decision and it makes sense but he’s slightly dissatisfied with the choice even if it makes sense.
He’d gone with a ‘don’t mess with me’ look (in his head; in practice he’s kind of a skinny dude against the titans that are the Oni who tend to tower above him). For his hair he’s got a blond/teal floof (like Markiplier’s). Sometimes he’ll forget he has horns and will run his hand through his hair and snag himself. He finds it really amusing and fun except when it gets in his eyes when he’s trying to do something and then he’ll just start growling to himself. Sometimes he’ll go for a short ponytail (because that can be changed cosmetically; most don’t bother spending the cred on it when it’s also necessary for food, renting a space for Kith, having your own apartment, etc).
He usually wears shoes but he doesn’t really need to; the bottoms of his feet are scaly. The back of his feet are mostly normal; the toes are a little more pointy and clawed. He generally wears a tank top minimum, displaying the tattoos, but is prone to cold so prefers denim, leather, etc.
He had a stylized 5 in the tribalized circuitry on his arms because of Babylon 5, but after the Tear he added a Shadow ship on the left shoulder because it looks terrifying especially when you don’t know what it is. He also has what looks like a harness on his front (so if he’s not wearing a shirt you might not realize immediately, particularly if he has a vest on), a sword down his spine (which he wouldn’t have gotten if he had to do so post-Tear as he imagines it would have hurt despite his new pain resistance), chains around his shoulders and down his right arm, a wolf skull biting into that chain. It’s not symmetrical; he does actually have one of the ‘cuffs’ from his hands higher, but you don’t always notice since he usually wears an actual cuff on the other arm.
