Kazami Hiroka, Former Matriarch of the Kazami Family, a Direct Family of the Amaya-kai, deceased
Hattori Rinka, Second (and Current) Matriarch of the Kazami Family
Hattori Mizuto, Ani-san of the Kazami Family

The Kazami-gumi was formerly a second-tier Family under the Yukichi Association, but was promoted to a Direct Family after the holdings of the Association grew too substantial for a single Family to control.  (Also, there were concerns that the Association was growing too powerful and might start Getting Ideas as all monopolies do.)
Once the Second Matriarch took over, rumors began that Hattori, if not the whole Kazami Family, had ties to the Osato-kai due to her irezumi no youkai, but nothing has been conclusively proven—and the Natsukawa-gumi are looking.
Along with the Association, the Kazami-gumi supposedly ‘usher in a new age of the yakuza’ due to their focus on making money, rather than more traditional aspects such as physical prowess or fighting demons or any other such pursuits.  Hattori in fact tends to look down on such ‘braindead’ and ‘useless’ ruffians, although tends to not post guards or defend her territory in any way and then gets upset when other more active Families such as the Miyamoto-gumi step in.
When it comes to finances, though, the Kazami-gumi excels.  They practically contribute half of the Clan’s finances, even though they have a smaller population.  They’re one of few groups willing to work with the Akiyama-gumi, and have participated in a number of joint operations against famous companies in Japan, such as buying up stock and earning a place on the board.  (Reluctantly.  Grudgingly.  But most of the time the Akiyama-gumi don’t haggle for a better payment and their blackmail tips are worth the effort, so Hattori allows it, grumbling all the while.)

also maybe this will label me as a terrible millennial but I have to ask: what is so terrible about 'adulting?'  what is wrong with humor laughing and crying at how you managed to overcome your insecurities, depression, and burnout to manage to do one productive thing?  I've read the statistics on millennials being the burnout generation, on the increase in depression and such.  (maybe some people would say 'well obviously the issue is that you haven't treated your mental health' but a) it's hard to find the right therapist, look at horror stories online and b) in some situations your mental health isn't covered because the US is terrible and c) millennials do not have the money or time to be taking off of work for this stuff)
this is the main thing that bothers me.  the rest is whatever.  we escape in stories because frankly the real world sucks, and it's hard to change that when you're the 'burnout generation.'
maybe it's the word.  maybe it's too 90's or Buffy for people. maybe 'being responsible' is what they want us to use.  which, to be fair, it's boring and tedious to say, so it fits the subject matter.  adulting sounds so much more adventurous, like you're going off to slay the demons of the everyday.
on harry potter: JK Rowling is terrible, but there's context I think that fits here.  I wish I could remember the video on Youtube but someone was saying that maybe her fans created her, because there were all these critics, Christian parents and groups and conservative people who wanted to ban the books, and the fans rallied around her and told her not to listen to criticism time and time again. but maybe it goes both ways.  maybe fans took it to heart because they fought Christians and conservatives to read it, so there's more investment there.  idk.  I wasn't super invested after book...five?  I skipped a book because of angst and only read the end because I wanted to know how it ended.  the answer is: it was disappointing.  I think her editors stopped trying or were told to stop trying.  please cancel her and make sure it's only fan creations that continue to exist, because fan communities can do so much better than so many of these problematic creators.
also, avocado toast is not a millennial thing.  the answer to why we are too poor to afford houses is not that we're constantly going out to eat. the answer is: we're too poor to afford houses.  the economy trashing us twice might have something to do with that.  but no, because america and pre-nation beliefs that everything bad that happens to you must be a moral failing, it's because of a character flaw.
people need to get better at critical thinking.

sorry, I shouldn't be taking this seriously.  the people writing attack pieces probably aren't taking their job seriously at least.  the tik toks are probably more goofing off than anything; I haven't watched them because I don't have tik tok.  some of them don't even know who millennials are and are just assuming that everyone older than them is a millennial.  I just...I guess I'm slightly disappointed, because zoomers are supposed to be the ones taking mental health more seriously, so seeing them making fun of mental health is just depressing.  or maybe they just have fourth doctor humor because they know we're all doomed.  that I get.
