idle thought #345

Okay, so it just hit me. Because I added a viewer discretion advised warning to my last post. And then I was like...hang on, isn't that just a 'content warning' that trolls are so up in arms against? I mean, I know why they're so against protecting people's psyches; it's because they're raging assholes. The thought of taking someone else's comfort level into consideration just doesn't compute for them. But that would mean that there have been 'special snowflakes' since the early 70's at least (which was as close as I could track from multiple internet sources). Now, the awfully vague ones weren't too helpful, and a lot of it was the 'clutching at pearls' purity culture that is legit targeting lgbtq+ youth today (which, uh, means that 'content warnings' used to be 'on your side', 'protecting the children', jerks), but still. The beginnings of a system you could improve upon. So that's not anywhere near 'new'.
Speaking of I think my system needs improvement, but I want to find sources on how to better organize it and that'll be a multi-day overhaul. Worth it, if it can help things like...IDK, does a 'tumblr savior' like feature even exist for Dreamwidth? If you want to comment on any of my posts, even/especially anonymously, this one might be nice, because while validation is nice for me I'd rather the reading experience goes well for you.
