Scheming for the Greater Good
Apr. 29th, 2021 11:59 pmI was feeling kind of bad about all this angst that Miyamoto was going through and trying to figure out what was going on, and then realized "oh yeah, this is the Shimano effect". In other words, Kumai kind of ruined Miyamoto's ability to trust that people are being genuine. That, and I wanted to take a step toward the eventual end goal of 'yakuza power couple' with Miyamoto and Cordy, parallel to some AU headcanons about Majima and Makoto teaming up (and, of course, getting married) to become even more of a force of nature than canon Majima. So all of that came together for this fic.

Miyamoto Cordelia (Cordy), as herself (and married to Suna)
Hattori Rinka (Snyder), Matriarch of the Kazami-gumi/Kazami Family, a Direct Family of the Amaya-kai
Amaya-kai, the Amaya Clan, the Yakuza Clan that a lot of them are in
Natsukawa Renyo (Buffy), Chairwoman of the Amaya-kai (and Slayer)
Kumai Atae (Jesse), Former Matriarch of the Kumai-gumi/Kumai Family, a Direct Family of the Amaya-kai, replaced after the events of A Cup Overflows and Phoenix Spirit
Inoue Yuu (Andrew), Co-Captain of the Miyamoto-gumi (so basically directly under Miyamoto)
Author's Notes: In this universe, Japan is run by the women. Kansai-ben, the "more slangy" version of Japanese compared to Kanto-ben (spoken in Tokyo), makes an appearance again. The Yakuza is slightly more tolerated because they are the main force keeping the demons at bay in Japan.
