          “So, Willow, where d’ya fall?”
         It’s freeing, how much more relaxed around him she’s gotten, like she’s not looking for him to keep being the kindergartner she’d known.  She frowns in response, and once upon a time that would’ve intimidated him.  Now he barely flinches.
         “I don’t know what you’re asking.”  But she doesn’t sound annoyed, more amused than anything.  It’s a nice change.
         “The whole, liking-girls vs liking-guys thing.  You like that girl in your Wicca group, but is it an equal thing, or…?”  He’s practically draped himself over the seat, but then, sitting normally is so boring.
         “Well, what about you?” she counters with a smile.  “It’s not fair if I’m the only one talking about this.”
         He actually gives it some serious thought before answering honestly, “Apparently, my type is people who want me dead.”
         “Poor Xander.”  She pats him on the head.  “I’ll find you someone nice, at some point.  Personally…I don’t know.  I liked Oz, I liked you, and now I like Tara.”
         He nods, casual.  Not like he doesn’t care.  He wanted to know the answer, but he doesn’t care about getting a specific answer.  “Well, thinking about is of the good, but not knowing is fair.  Asking questions is half the battle.”
         “So says Socrates,” Willow agrees, pleased.
