Christmas Guilt Cookies
Dec. 25th, 2017 10:47 pmthough it prompted fic because this kind of stupid argument especially with hurt feelings is exactly the sort of argument Xander and Willow would have, so yay I guess?? except not really.
for the curious, it was over whether or not the D&D campaign presented in a film series was planned by either the players or DM/GM. and yes, feelings were hurt. It is entirely the sort of stupid thing that Willow and Xander would argue over and get hurt and then realize later that they were being utterly silly. Let's hope this is predictive, shall we?
Happy holidays to all!

Xander’s just finished dialing Willow’s number when his phone rings. He almost drops it, swallowing past the guilt in his throat, and answers the call.
“I’m sorry. I’m such a poopyhead,” Willow says with no preamble, voice going at a hundred miles per hour.
“It was my bright idea to keep talking rather than dropping it,” Xander corrects, shaking his head.
“But no—I took it personally,” his friend wails, and he winces even as he holds the phone further from his face.
“Will you accept 50-50 shared guilt?” he proposes before they can start arguing again.
There’s a silence on the other end as she considers the deal. “…Only if it’s accompanied by terrible Christmas movies and the guilt cookies I made. Your place is free, right?”
“Yeah.” He pauses, then continues. “I’d invite Buffy, but she’s actually having a family Christmas for once, so we shouldn’t mess with that. At least her best friends aren’t arguing anymore, which is of the good because she’s got enough with the whole Slayer stuff.”
“We’ll save her guilt cookies,” Willow states decisively. “If all else fails and I eat them I’ll be guilty enough to stress bake her more.”
"Flawless plan," he agrees and hangs up.
