Breaking the Seal

Funny enough, but Yami Bakura and Seto Kaiba's voices are really easy for me to write.

Chapter Summary: My take on the Orichalcos arc (rewrite)
Word Count: 360
Rating: teen
“With the power of my Millenium Puzzle, I break the seal!” Yugi brings the puzzle down on the seal, but nothing happens. “N-no. Pharaoh!” He has to do something, but what? He can’t think of any other options, and he’s running out of time.
A chuckle enters his mind. “Poor little Yugi. Your puzzle has failed you, hasn’t it?”
Yugi’s ghostly form starts in horror. He knows that voice. But how? How is it here?
“You’re that spirit!” He turns to see something wearing Bakura’s form, but it’s clearly not Bakura.
The malevolent grin is enough to assure him of that, as is the ironic little bow. “Oh, don’t worry, they haven’t gotten what they want, yet. Even if they take the pharaoh, you need to be sacrificed as well. Don’t ask me how I know—be grateful I’m choosing to share this much at all!”
“But I don’t want them to take him!” Yugi’s close to tears. “I can’t let him lose his soul.”
“Unfortunately, against the power of the Orichalcos, you have very little that could work. Only the dragon you now possess is of any use, and it’s in the hands of someone no longer able to utilize its power.” By the look in those eyes, this evil thing in Bakura’s form is enjoying this.
How could anyone enjoy such torment? Yugi glares, but it’s apparently not very effective, considering how the amusement grows.
“Why don’t we make an agreement?” The spirit is still grinning, but it’s more serious than before. “I’ll help you win back the spirit of your pharaoh, but in the meantime I get control of your body. I’m curious to see exactly how far these people are willing to go, and how strong your own powers are. Let’s call it trying out the Millenium Puzzle for the day it’s mine.”
“There is no way I’ll let you—” Yugi begins hotly before the thought occurs to him. “I don’t have a choice, do I?”
“Very perceptive,” the thief purrs. “Don’t worry, I’ve had practice pretending to be who I’m not. Your friends won’t tell the difference, and I’ll keep them safe. For now.”
