Duelling for Friendship
Mar. 10th, 2016 08:40 pmWish me luck on my tests tomorrow. I'm gonna need it.
Main Points:
Ace Attorney/YuGiOh crossover universe. Or something.
Summary: Phoenix is going to save Edgeworth.
Word Count: 360
Rating: Gen
“Well, Wright? Are you going to play one last pathetic card, or should I end this duel here and now?” Across the bench, Edgeworth is sneering, and Phoenix feels a drop of sweat roll down his face. Argh! If I could just wipe that smirk off his face…Edgeworth might have been a bit stuffy back in the day, but he never was a bully. He hated bullies. Maybe the Demon Duelist really is a bit too much for me…
“Quit stalling and kick this creep’s butt already! I know you can do it! Just remember everything my sister taught you!” Maya, cheering on from the sidelines.
She hasn’t given up on me, so why should I give up on myself? I just have to believe in my deck. Phoenix takes a breath and draws his next card. And allows the smile to cross his face. “If this isn’t enough for you, then maybe I have to defeat you to get you to take me seriously! And I haven’t earned the title ‘Turnabout King’ in my last few duels for nothing! Gramarye Magician, obliterate his Steel Samurai!”
“What? But the Magician doesn’t have the power to do that. If you wanted an honorable death, all you had to do was ask.” Edgeworth smiles and waggles his finger, but there’s something a little unsure in his eyes for a few moments. Maybe not everyone would’ve seen it right away, but he had. Enough to know…Edgeworth, you’re still in there, and demon or no demon I’ll drag you into the light.
“Perhaps not by itself, but I also am playing the Quick Draw Shoot ‘em Magic Card!” He slams the card down onto the desk. “Take that!”
Edgeworth flinches, grabbing his arm as if in support. “But that card could recoil against you! You could destroy your own monster! Who would take that chance?”
“I would, Miles, because I believe in my cards! They won’t fail me!” Phoenix allows the victory grin to appear on his face. “I put my heart and soul into this deck! You’ve forgotten you had either one, but I’ll remind you if it’s the last thing I do!”
