An Odd Couple

Summary: A drabble on a 'verse where Fitz and Xander are dating.

Notes: I usually don't celebrate Valentine's (I'm generally single) but for whatever reason, I decided that, aside from my attempt to weekly update SS, I wanted to drabble on whatever ships I have until Valentine's.

            Fitz is sweet, but not overbearing.  He’s often quiet but thoughtful when he’s courting someone, leaving small but meaningful gifts such as a rose or a candle.  He doesn’t speak other languages, but due to his work in the bookstore, he reads it fine and tends to sign off in romantic phrases in other languages, particularly those his significant other doesn’t speak.

            Jojo smiles at him.  Sometimes he’ll whine like a child if scolded, but he actually appreciates someone calling him on anything stupid he does.  Sometimes, when he’s most at ease, he’s excitable and loud.  Sometimes more of Jonathan will show through, and Fitz will catch tender looks that he’s not supposed to see.  They’re both loyal, and value that loyalty.  There’s little they wouldn’t do for friends.

            Xander gets terribly excited when Fitz is dragged off to go shopping.  “Welcome to the Scoobies,” is his explanation when the suffering Speedwagon returns, and Fitz gets it.  Him being accepted, especially given the wariness the Shovel Speeches showed…it means a lot.

            The Slayerettes call the two General Fury and Agent Carter.  Fitz doesn’t mind, much.  It’s not a bad life.
