“Nobody, absolutely none of us, well, besides Eleanor and we’ve all been wondering about her for a while but the Watchers say she’s okay and they’re not like the old Watchers so we should probably listen to them and think that they’re right and not lying to us for any reason because what reason would they have to lie except isn’t that a violation of Three and I don’t know, maybe I should check, but what if that makes them think that we don’t trust them and breaks their trust and that’s what makes them go bad when they didn’t have any inclination before…”
“Wils. Deep breath. Too much caffeine. Clearly I need to train someone better. Actually, that should actually be a Rule. No coffee for the Goddess unless you need her beating the Flash in a speed race. Deep breath. Think about what you want to tell me. Aaaand, say it.”
“Okay. None of us are having any luck with Number Ten. I mean, it’s easy, sometimes, but there’s always a case that comes along, and, well, how do we deal with that? How do we not do that? I mean, if we don’t react at all, we might be inhuman or sociopaths and if we’ve got powers, that’s bad, very, very bad, but…”
“Yeah. Even Gibbs has trouble with that one, and I guess the only thing I can say is, that’s why there’s Gibbs’ Rule Fifteen. If you can’t stay totally objective, congrats, you’re human. But you can’t let that cloud your judgement and get you violating Slayer Rule Number One.”
“Y-yeah, I suppose. Thanks, Xander. I miss you.”
“I miss you, too, Willow. Though for such a powerful witch, you sure haven’t been using the teleportation as much as I expected. …Yeah, yeah, I know. Trying to stay responsible. I’m proud. Try not to bounce off any walls or Slayers. I hear they don’t appreciate that much.”
“Try not to get kidnapped on your date. Again. Or the Slayers are thinking about making a new rule, and it’s one you really, really aren’t going to like.”
“I get the feeling it’s an unofficial rule anyway, but I hear you. Take care.”
“Oh, come on, Xander, even I know that was weak. You’re not getting away with just that, Mister.”
“Why don’t you come down one of these days? Don’t bother to call ahead or have us make any plans, because we all know what happens with the universe when plans are made. There is some sort of anti-plan plot in place, with Rube Goldberg machinery in place. We can hang and try to decipher the latest Bollywood films.”
