Surprisingly, Xander before October 31st is not that much different from Xander after October 31st. He just adds in a few things into his schedule.
He still watches questionable anime and goofy cartoons, but he’ll add in sketching sessions or fabricating toys. Willow will ask him questions about the content of the cartoons and most of the time he can answer them. He’ll fall asleep in class, but it won’t be from just watching things. He’ll still inappropriately flirt with his friends, but it’s different these days. It’s not always about looks anymore. Sometimes he’ll say things about their intelligence or their personality and it’s hard to know how to respond.
He’s stopped hiding his intelligence out of fear. He still has no brain-to-mouth filter. He hides his worry by babbling, and it occasionally sounds more intelligent or sciency or whatever but it’s not much. He gets just as distracted but it’s equally likely to be a show as a new idea for a pet project.
The main difference that only Willow notices when she comes over for a sleepover is the fact that he can’t sleep without a nightlight. A blue one. He’d gone and bought it shortly after the change.
(She doesn’t get that the nightmares had been worse before he’d gotten that. She doesn’t notice the nightmares at all, mostly because he’s very good or really that he’s gotten very good at being quiet. He gets up in the middle of the night and goes to tinker but he’s gotten pretty good at this stealth mode thing.)
